Pick up meseta from missions, synth weapons and sell for meseta, meseta from completing missions, saving meseta rather than spending...what else did I miss?

Trading?

Innocent Girl will give you nice fat meseta drops like whoahdiggy, especially with the 3* luck we've got at the moment.

EDIT: Also enormous piles of XP and pretty darn good material drops (again, especially with 3* luck). It's also very fast killin's because all the enemies have drastically reduced HP, but the margin for error is small because they also hit a lot harder. However, the entire mission is 100% predictable, so it's very easy to plan for--even store-bought B-rank elemental armours will keep you warm in C- and B-rank runs.

Innocent girl is probably the best way to start off in PSU. Decent MP, great XP, and steady meseta.

You also build up Weapon Badges for the Gifts from Beyond trade mission. Some very nice weapons and room items can be attained through that.

After a few runs, it becomes very quick and easy. Definitely the best way to get through the first 30 or so levels.
