PS:P really needed to keep the Lab Recovery and Mad Beasts missions... they have mini-boss fights that weren't covered anywhere else. In fact the only Gol Dolva you can fight is in story mode :'(

I wish event-style missions were included in Portable as well, like the good ones from Firebreak.

We can only hope that someday PS:P could get download missions kind of like Monster Hunter. It's highly doubtful, and most likely will NEVER happen, but it would be nice, wouldn't it?

I don't really care for Monster Hunter's download missions*... aside from special tickets to make joke equipment they don't add anything interesting you can't already do as a quest. The thing about download/event quests in PSO and PSU was that they were always designed MUCH harder and more interesting than regular missions. Even the crappy Winter Festa ones they took the HARDEST BLOCKS of all kinds of random PSU missions and chained them together with a double bossfight at the end. That was hardly any effort on their part but totally kicked ass to play.

* except for the challenge quest where you fight plesioth naked for 60000z, I like that one, money is always good.

Well, I wasn't saying anything about a specific mission, I meant how the JP version of PS:P has DLC, maybe 2 will get DLC for US/EU versions of the game.

^We can only hope 2 will have a DLC, otherwise I'll just lose what little faith I have left towards Sega (and I have very, very little faith towards Sega, so, it wouldn't be much of a loss on anyone's part).

Yeah we missed all of the end-game difficulty content. It's bad when just my Human PT can wipe out just about any group of enemies in a single PA combo from a good weapon.

I hope we get more lively missions right on the disc, the PS:P missions are badly watered down compared to the same ones online... all the midbosses got taken out from the middle of missions, like Moonlight Beast online has a few Kamatoze and Tengohg enemies along the way to spice things up, but there are none in the mission on PSP at all. I think even DEMONS ABOVE doesn't have any demons aside from Onma.

Not every mission's that bad but there are still way too many that are, it's especially bad considering that we just got plain-jane PSU missions instead of the really fun stuff from previous events etc.

Demons Above has the Tengoh's lol. :D
I like the new mission and boss at Flaming Horns.
I like all the missions, if only they were easier.
Japan got a great, and HARD mission, I explained it in a different thread somewhere, but I'll give you a short description of it.
It's pretty much True Darkness, with 6 blocks. It has Dulk Fakis at the end.
The mission is pretty difficult without a party, but it is soloable.

About Demons Above, it's got Tengohgs? I thought the story mission in that area did but the free mission version didn't. I'll admit it's been a while.

The thing I cared most about the JP download missions is the monster levels getting up to 120-150. I'm actually pretty happy with the difficulty in New Game+ multiplayer sessions... maybe I should start saving progress in those, even with full gear there's still some challenge when the item shops only sell Monomate, Antimate, and Photon Charge.

You might be right, I recently played the story mission, but I'm pretty sure the free mission does. I'll have to go through it again.

New game+ has higher monster levels? Or did you mean in the JP missions?

If you start a New Game+ save and only use it for multiplayer mode, you can access any difficulty of mission immediately (you're level 100) but it starts off HARD with 1* gear, level 1 skills, no story progress to unlock items like Dimate and Trimate in shops. Even the Resta disc is tied to story mode progress! Think about that next time De Ragnus stomps on you.

I think it took me half an hour to beat through Plains Overlord S from scratch, and would have been much longer if it weren't for a light-element Sweet Deathic something dropped along the way.

Wow, I haven't started new game+ yet because I didn't want to lose everything. Maybe I'll do the new game+ with my third character I'm working on now.
I would never do it with my first character, I have 500+ hours on her. Losing weps would kill me.
Also, I don't think I'd try it with my second character, I now have over 75 hours on him, so I would hate to lose PA levels, and my pwand I just found :D.

Dude when you hit New Game+ it lets you save to a different spot. If you want you don't have to save at all (which is how I've been doing it, but the fun of starting off with 1* gear is starting to be overshadowed by having to grab my 80 grinders and skill discs every time)

Either way you won't lose your old character with his complete colleciton of stuff.

Hmm...I'll check it out.
