View Full Version : Now that the Double Save FSOD is fixed, another emerges...

Ok, I've never gotten the Double Save FSOD, but I've gotten my fair share of FSODs just moving from lobby to lobby. However, ever since they fixed the double save FSOD, I've been getting FSODs in games, during gameplay, while in the Forest, the Ruins, and even aboard the Pioneer 2. I just lost my Twin Brand, my Vulcans, and some fluids and stuff...has anyone else noticed an increase in this?

Are you sure it's FSOD and not lag? Because that's really odd that it would happen in the middle of the game. Moving from lobby to lobby is possible, but just sitting around in one is strange.

they also spurred out a new way of duping with the double save.

Thats really stinks man and I'v haven't heard anything like yet from anyone. I agree that it could just be lag. Lag is nasty that way.

Well it fixed the old one, it just created a puzzle for people to figure out. Which is about a 2 piece big ass friggin puzzle a four year old could figure out.

the SSOD is not fixed!! player 4 can still corrupt. i lost it all on Tuesday. what good is the second save? did sonic team learn how to dupe before they initiated this? the answer is NO because i can still dupe.
recently i have noticed some lag like fsods happen. the problem is that i can see lag only for a short time before that buzzing noise starts. you could play lag free for a few hours and then everyone stops moving. also, lag usually leads to a disconnect. if i notice everyone stop moving and getting hit i immediatly quit game before changing rooms. the two times i have had this type of fsod, 30 or so seconds passed with other players stopped. ususally enough time to kill everything and try to enter another room. the new wierd fsod is nice enough sometimes to give you time to bail.

I'm positive it wasn't lag, it just froze, I waited for minutes upon minutes. I use a 56k

Definetly sounds like a Latency issue. Call your internet provider or look into getting Broadband. Ive been on PSO Eps1&2 since NOV 1 and am currently on cable internet. Ive FSOD 3 times to this date, most Ive lost was a DEX mag and Musashi, but seriously, what your describing sounds like your definetly TIMING OUT. Best solution for that is a new provider.

I had a very similar problem.... but it was really strange! Before I moved up to BB, my 56k modem liked to freeze everything but me. Literately. Couldn't talk, people just sat there not talking themselves, not fighting,... notta except my own movenment around the screen. But three minutes later, waiting on the system to time it'self out so I get a save and not lose my stuff....vola! Everything starts running again at triple speed. All messages and fighting and running around that happened when I thought everyone was 'frozen'... it all suddenly happens in a few seconds till it can resume to current time....So any more... I say if your cube or tv isn't hissing at you. OR YOU aren't frozen in place... give it a few minutes. It'll all work again!

This is just lag on your part. I have this happen to me all the time when my DSL modem reset itself. And usually takes about 30-45 sec to reconnect. If DSL does not connect within required time the game will disconnect you from PSO server. So, this isn't new. It happen way before any fixed was done to PSO server. But I never get FSOD from it.
I do get FSOD from changing ship and block. If this happen all you have to do is do a soft reset (hold B & X and press Start button). The game will save before returning you to title screen.

I agree with the others. Your 56k connection lost packets due to timeout and such. Try to do soft reset next time and see if that help save your items from being eaten by FSOD (if you can that is).

This is lag. I've seen it happen to a lot of 56k users when I play with them online. For the other players, what they end up seeing is you doing all your actions (minus talking) while standing in place. Then a little while later, you will teleport magically to wherever it is you really whent.

this may be a lag issue, but now instead of getting a disconnect message the game just freezes. i have had this happen alot on GC. prior to the bug fixes i would just disconnect safely. now sometimes i get fsod instead of disconnect. i have a very good dialup connection and dont want to change providers. i think that lag will lead to the possiblity of an fsod instead of a safe disconnect. i posted to say that if you are lagged out and cant talk, and nobody is moving after 20 seconds- just quit and return.

Damnit, and I was finally starting to feel comfortable with the possibility of going online because of the Double Save fix...course, I still need to invest the time (changing ISPs) and money (for a Broad Band Adapter). http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
Oh well.

I've never fsod from lag. I once lagged out and it showed a disconnection message and told me to press start. From now on though I'll keep it safe and quit the game if I lag.
