The actual event will begin around the end of September (right after the current GBR ends), but in the meantime, we'll be treated to various reports. Right now, there are reports on the character race breakdown across the population, as well as the most popular missions, partner machines and room goods.

Geeeeto Opeeeeeen!

Yeah, we really needed to know that almost 25 percent of the population are level 1 mules...
and that just over 1% of all characters make up the level 180 player base
and that 73.1% of all characters are still stuck on basic type...
and that the most played mission on ND is White Beast with a majority of 41.4%...
and that the number 1 item left in players rooms is okiku doll...
http://phantasystaruniverse.jp/event/3rd_anniversary/report/image/report_04_ph_01.jpg
and that male newman is least popular.

Maybe next time they'll get it right and stop counting inactive accounts.

It's so sad to see The Holy Ground that far down the list. It's one of my favourite areas and it's a shame there's no point in the mission at all ._.

Also, there are more Fortegunner than Gunmaster? Wow, totally different for us

I'm thinking that's simply because you have to be fortegunner first in order to be gunmaster, but not all people who raised fG went GM. Just guessing here....lol

I didn't have time to go over it last night, but now I've translated a message from SonicTeam (http://phantasystaruniverse.jp/event/3rd_anniversary/greeting/index.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=680&width=500) that they call...

The greeting on the 3rd anniversary.

As always, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for playing Phantasy Star Universe.

Thanks to you, we have reached three years since the release of PSU. We sincerely appreciate your long-time support.

Over the past year, the story of Phantasy Star Universe has come a long way, ending with Episode 3. However, that is not the end, but a new beginning.

It has already been five months since the commencement of the supplemental update system. Are you enjoying the wide variety of content added to the ever-changing world of PSU such as GAS, GAM and the optional billing features?

This year, we held our first trial item design contest. Despite a little mishap with our judging, we could sense the creative vigor and inspiration of the contestants, as we received over 700 different entries. We think that we could hold a similar trial in the future, so be looking forward to it!

By no means have the past three years been smooth sailing. From everyone's encouragement and opinions, PSU has continually evolved as can be seen from AOTI and the supplemental update. Even now, we continue to ponder just how to make PSU an even more enjoyable experience for everyone.

Just the other day, we announced a release date of December 3 for Phantasy Star Portable 2, our latest work which will be packed with new features. Just as with Phantasy Star Portable, expect this game to feature certain links with PSU.

Next year, it will have been 10 years since Phantasy Star Online was released. Because we will continue to expand not only PSU, but the entire Phantasy Star series, we feel there is plenty to look forward to on all horizons.

Everyone's hope and opinions act as our support, our strength.

Because we wish to expand not only the world of PSU, but also that of the Phantasy Star series, we will always appreciate your support.

Hmmm once again I believe that PSP2 will be testing ground for a revamped combat system OR after a few months of PSP2 PSU might get the combat system used for PSP2. But this is pure speculation. Don't quote me on it.

I hate to say it, because I still like PSU, but I've completely lost confidence in ST's ability to turn this game around. ^^; It seems like no matter what they do, people keep leaving. They've made a lot of bad decisions and I hope that if they ever DO make another console Phantasy Star game, they will do better next time. PSU has a lot of potential and there's no substitute for it. I'll wait and see what they have planned next year. :)

That's pretty much what I feel. PSU could have been a much better game than it's become, but bad decisions and possibly the difficult community have ultimately influenced the progression (or rather, lack of) in the game.

When I look at PSP2, I see a game that potentially could re-write the rules for PSU. I do expect ST to revise PSU's battle system at least once more before it shuts down, and PSP2 could be where to draw ideas from.

Honestly, I'd rather hear news of a new console title, because I don't really think any improvements can do anything for PSU now; there simply aren't enough people left playing. With a new title, you'd have a larger playerbase to work with (or against, as the case may be).

I would have loved to see a successful Phantasy Star game after PSO, but unfortunately PSU didn't live up to a lot of people's expectations; my own included. I still play because of friends, and the lack of similar games but I always believe PSU could have potentially been so much more than it is. It's sad really.
