Happy Birthday Dreamcast!
Easily our favorite game system, the Dreamcast is everything that is good about gaming and even 10 years after it revolutionized our world it still holds the power to blow our minds.
My brother and I needed to celebrate this occasion not only by playing through the long history of games it has known, but also by enjoying the beauty and design of it's creation.
I decided I would create a series of paintings focusing on the system's stylings and architecture in tribute to one of the greatest things, to me, ever made.
So I set out these past few weeks and created these 6 paintings (originally I wanted to do 9 but I didn't have the time, so an upside down 9 will suffice). What I have created pales in comparison to the perfection of the real counterparts, but I hope they do just a little bit of justice and provoke a memory or good feeling you may have of DC, or even draw your attention to a detail you may have forgotten long about.
To tie the tribute gallery together, my brother has created a really awesome Dreamcast-infused Flash page that sparks that DC love simply yet SEGAy:
