I am capable of taking 1280x720 pictures on the Xbox 360.

So I'm offering to take pictures for those incapable of doing so themselves.

But I have some conditions.

Be nice to me! I'm afraid of you.
I will not speak through the mic under any circumstances.
Have no expectations of me. I haven't done stuff like this before, so my skill at taking pictures is very low.

I can do video, but I'm not well-equipped for it.

Anyway, here's a preview pic.

http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/9039/previewbh.th.png (http://img35.imageshack.us/i/previewbh.png/)

If you're interested, contact me here or on Xbox Live.
My gamertag is also Mracless.

If you want, I can take pictures at 1920x1080 as well.

However, my capture card only supports 1080i, so interlacing is often noticable.

Also, 1080i through HDMI will not work for some reason, so I have to use to component cables, which will have a significant impact on the quality.

Here's a preview:

Here's a picture which shows some obvious interlacing:

Ah, that would be nice. With what I have I can only get fairly bad images - some HD ones would be great if you're willing. ^^

GT: Misaki Ki , anytime tomorrow would be fine for me. *Is in -6*

I'd like to know what kind of capture card you are using, if you don't mind telling me. That's some pretty good quality there.

I am using a Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro capture card.

I may have to go buy that thing today.... tempting. Is there much lag between pressing a button and seeing the video updated?

There is no lag for me, but you may need a pretty beefy computer.

Hello OP, are you able to play full screen through your computer monitor when recording and taking pictures? My old capture card only allowed me to view the game through a TINY screen on the corner of the program.

Yes, I am able to view the game full screen on my monitor.

The capture card has a HDMI output and component output, which makes it easy to connect to any HDTV or monitor supporting HDMI or component.

I have my Xbox connected to the HDMI input of my capture card, then I have a HDMI cable going from the capture card's HDMI output to my monitor.

If you want a fullscreen preview on your monitor, the software that comes with the capture card will not let you. The preview on it is pretty big though.

But other software might allow you to get bigger previews. I know VirtualDub lets you have preview that is almost fullscreen, but there's no easy way to take a screenshot with that, as far as I can tell.

Sorry if I haven't explained that well.

Nah, they're your pictures now. Do as you please with them.

We'll definitely have to take some picture, I'm eager to see how my character looks in High Def.

Also, AMCap will let you run it fullscreen (for screenshots and such). However, without buying the program, you are limited to 15 minutes, then you'll have to close it and re-open it. That said, I love it ;)

I'd be glad to help.

Do you not have a HDTV or monitor to play on? Would the pictures I take be the first time you see your characters in High definition? D:

I'm surprised at how disinterested people are in getting HD pictures taken. Only 5 people have expressed interest, and I've only taken pictures for 2 people so far. :-?

It's good to see someone else offering Xbox-users a chance to take game screens. I suggest the OP to add this thread's link to your sig, like Zero, for reference & exposure.

I've done as you suggested, Dhylec, but it's not going to get a lot of exposure.

Look at my post count! I never have anything interesting to contribute to other threads.

haha. That's okay. I'll change mine to redirect here too. ^^ I mean, let's face it - Your HD pictures are far sexier than mine could ever be xD

EDIT: Done! ^^

That's so kind of you. Thank you.

I feel guilty though! It seemed like you enjoyed taking pictures, and I've taken that away from you. :(

Let's keep this thread as one to taking screenshots & discussion on such. Posting images goes to the screenshot thread, not here. Shall we?

Hey! Ok so I'm def thinking of getting one of these for my computer. I have a standard av capture device. There's only on catch, how does the video quality look? I'm sold on the screencaps, but 200 is a lot for just great looking screencaps.

As I said in the first post, I'm not well equipped for taking video.

The manual recommends an 8 HDD RAID to get uncompressed footage, which I don't have...

So I have to capture it compressed with the codec provided with the card. AVI motion JPEG.

Anyway, I took some video footage of me poorly fighting low-level enemies for you to see how the video quality compressed with motion JPEG.

Here's a youtube link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsVl-Ee1kH0&fmt=22

If you'd rather see the video without adding youtube's processing on top, here's a megaupload link.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VU2Y7PAG

I didn't compress the video further, so this is as raw as it gets. As you'll see, it's a bit grainy and blurry, but it's still much better than SD footage, I'd say.

If you have the equipment to captured uncompressed, the video quality will be perfect.

When I capture uncompressed footage, I get little better than a slideshow, but the image quality is perfect.

Ok, I'm sold lol. It rivals fraps and the HD quality with even youtube is great! Thanks Mracless :-)

Question: Are these all raw photos you're giving everyone or are they touched up first?

I can definitely see why the population over there has held up so well as a console. It looks very clean and with the ability to actually see everyone in the lobby...imagine that.

I don't really know what you mean by touched up, but I don't do anything particularly significant to the images. ^^;

I just convert them from the raw BMP to PNG or JPEG. Nothing else.

You could have pmed Mracless and asked him directly, instead of bumping a 4-month old topic.

Now that Mracless answers it himself, this is closed from disrupting the flow.
