Tact

You are walking down the city street, in the rain. Your umbrella patters with the noise of droplets on its surface. The wind begins to blow and you adopt a much brisker pace. Cars go by, splashing puddles onto the sidewalk. The dim light of the street lamps does not help your vision much. Looking up at the building in front of you, you see that you have arrived at your destination. "42 FKL Drive," it reads.
Lightning flashes behind the building, giving it a dismal appearance. You knock three times on the door. No more, no less. Three. Looking into the small window on the door, you notice a figure in a dress striding up to you. Though obscured by the rain, you hear the clack of high-heeled shoes getting closer and closer to the door.
As it creaks open, the dreary scene is broken up by a cheery maid with cat ears and a tail. The choice of attire is off-putting; needles stick out of the maid's dress in every which way. However, you feel at home here. There is no question that the maid is friendly.
"Hi! I've been waiting!" Says the maid.
So, there's my monthly post.
