on PSO ship Vega people all of a sudden started act really odd.
they are horrdly rude, mean, snobby etc etc
today (Sunday 2/23) i got called a "item Sl*t" because all my equiped items happened to be rares.
also people aren't legit anymore?
i'm hearing
"N00bs are the only Legits because the don't have anything"
am i over reacting or is everyone losing their minds in Vega, and this isn't the only problem (excuse me for ranting) but people are just giving Items away to people just because their Characters are "Cute looking" and they hold up the game.
Do i have a Reason to be Upset can i justify this in anyway. should i stop going to Vega? what are the other ship like?
I WANNA BREAK SOMETHING

Maybe all the hackers killed the normal people and took over the ship http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

*sighs* in the situations i'm in right now i could believe that.....
i know some people are just mean, but they can all be lvl +100 and in the same ship as me 24/7 i'm guess the vets here call Vega the "Newbie Outlet" i've tried going to another ship but i don't know..it's sorta lonely i guess less BSOD there (i've gottentwo over 3 months first one lost all my favs second untouched lucky me)
anyone else care to help me out and give me a reason to play PSO for the interaction rather than leveling up? because i'm sorta losing faith in Vega
also, i made a appoint me (See Agito Helpers in Items board)
and when i got there slightly late, i being the one to set it up i foudn out that someone had made a game with a password called: Agito AUW 1975
no way thats just a evil stroke of luck.
is everyone out to get me @_@ or just a really bad day(s)

I feel for you, i really do. GC's PSO online community has turned to crap in my opinion. I have maby abour 4 or 5 people i really enjoy playing with anymore. The rest of them blah they are all jackasses. I remember in v2 the good old days and vv1, there were about 20-30 people i could catch a game with andthey are allways on when i was and we just allways had good times.

Wow... reminds me of the days when PSO v2 on DC was going to crap. The chaos as people engaged in rampant cheating and clans hijacked lobbies with constant FSODs. Tis a sad day indeed.

All the more reason to stay offline. Or, make intellengent friends on the 'net, and play with them on PSO.

I'm hoping PSOX will pull PSO out of it's current slump. The only prob I see with it is Snapple actually saying "nyan nyan" over and over on voice chat. But, that's what the negative feedback button is for! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

If you think Snapple would be a voice chat nuisance, God help anyone who is within ear-shot of me while in-game. 0_o

As for finding intelligent people to play with..well..thats a hit and miss each time you go online. I have to lament with Sean though, back on the Vers 1 and 2 days, there was quite the abundance of people to play with. Alot of the people you could just jump into a game with and have fun, and thats when you could lose both meseta and your weapons if they picked them up.

All in all, just find some people you can relate to, go in-game and if they are fun to play with, make it a usual thing to play with them in locked games.

And try different ships/blocks/lobbies, you never know who you might meet. =)

I refuse to play in locked games... Ruins the community aspect of PSO IMO. Always have and always will play in open games. Oh and ABDUR i'm sure you can't be nearly as annoying as catgirl (or guy?). I used to post on this board under another name but got shut out for some mod bashing... I still think you're the coolest mod on this board http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Atleast i don't think most people will *say* "omg wtf stfu n00b" over voice chat. So that's a good thing.

Just don't go to Vega - the first ship is mostly filled with the ghetto/hacker/jerk type of people, just like Oberon was on DC PSO. It's hard enough to find anyone decent to play with over there. I usually only play on Antares/08 or Deneb/09, where most people are friendly and aren't like "No0bs sux0r" or something like that.

I find it funny how ppl on those servers consider themselves "ghetto" just they are playing on a $200 entertainment system paying $9 a month to play a game. They prolly feel bad cause daddy didn't let em borrow the Beamer this weekend XD

I haven't really run into too many jerks but I haven't played in a while because my disk whent nuts and stopped working so I got hooked up in Skies of Arcadia (just beat it today). I've come to the conclusion that the annoying people who like to be jerks are lazy so they enter one of the first Vega blocks because they can do so quickly. Just go to other ships, there aren't as many people but they are friendlier.

My advice?

Avoid Antares 8 like you do Vega 1.

Search through Altair and Deneb. I find I have the most fun playing there. And, it does help if you have a friend online who has the game.

But, seriously. Antares 8 is identical to Vega 1 now, despite what most would want you to think. Most of the people who recommend Antares 8 are sad flies who want to feel as if they belong to something. =*D

Antares 8 isn't all that bad (besides the petty Legit/duper arguments, but I can usually look past that) most of the people I've met are fairly decent.

Well, agree with Abdur. It's hit and miss. Sometimes you'll find the epitomy, of what you would consider a good gamer, or partner. Other times, you run into an armada of people using double cannons and dreamcast mags. Killing everything in sight for miles. And your sitting there with a buster in your hand.... Asking... "Wtf...?" So, it's all a matter of chance. Like a bad slot machine. Or maybe a good one. All depends. As for the community in general, only certain people, care if it degrades or not. Fortunatly, I care. So, when I meet a good player, I help them out, if they ask me for help with c-mode, whatever, i'm there to back them up.

You just have to find the right people. Like walking into the mall, in a crowd, and seeing those exceptional few, that you might enjoy hanging out with. And that may enjoy your company. And yes, Vega is the home of lamers. Most of the time anyways. But, if anyone ever wants to get any game going, normal-Ultimate. And C-modes. Even a couple battles. I'm up for it. ^_^

The one and only... -DB-

The only time I ever go anywhere other than Antares 8 nowadays is when I'm bored (crap)less. And no, Antares 8 is almost always NOTHING like Vega. Although sometimes some very kinky people go there. However, this is rare, and I'd just ignore them and go play a game.

And also, to answer dgo, the only times when you will be called a noob are when you happen to be with a character who is possibly rude and/or quite brainless. Just remember that at one time, those rude and stupid people were also noobs at one time.

Reportanting back after trying Deb and andr ships
it was great so calm and everyone was mature
though i've only played with a random party enough though they were some-what non-communitive
it was alot better than it was though i think they thought i was some stupid dupper
which brings me to the next point.
would cheating include
A. taking items found with other characters of your own and giving them to others
example: a cane that a hunter can't use a giving it to a force that can
Example2: raising a mag and then giving it to a lvl 1 as a lil gift (not lvl 200 mag but enough to matter)
please don't flame if this is cheating i truely didn't know i thought of it as "only logical"

well to find good players who dont care about how great your items are, and also have a modicum of skill, you should play cmode. i can fondly remember playing cmode on version 2 and slowly accruing a large group of friends. if you have a good time, that can build a partnership. if you make only 3 friends on cmode you may inherit all the friends that they have.

another good way to make friends is to wait for the easter event. i was totally swamped during the christmas event with people who wanted to play the temple with me. you can play on any of the bigger servers to find good players. then you can build a community off the busy servers filled with friends. i now call deneb home, and alot of the second and third generation friends are there playing. on version 2 i was invited into a tight knit group that used to hang on umbriel. i tend to form alliances then move my base to a quieter place.

antares 8 was a good place to hang out at first. but i almost never go there now. there are constant arguments in the lobby, and too many people idling. a few times there were so many just standing around that i had fsod happen. flame wars between the holier than thou legits and the 1337 pwners get old. i also dont like playing where you need a certificate of authenticity with every rare you own to join a game. you will be greeted with rudeness wherever you decide to play, but anyone that you want to play with again is just a guild card away.

Usualy I just stick to Antares...Met a bunch of really nice people (About 2 pages of guild cards) there. And so...I either follow my friends around...or if I'm looking for a free game it's Antares I head for...considering I don't stick around the lobby to chat it's not too bad about the arguments. Plus...more often then not, I make a friend in the game. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif Just my two bits...but yeah http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
And now that I forgot what I was talking about...I think I'll shut up... o.o

To say PSO has lost its sense of community is a pretty bland statement, because I think you yourself may be a benifactor in that. If you know the right people and places, PSO is just as enthralling as day one was on v1.
