I feel so stupid for not figuring this out earlier. Instead of leveling every PA for each character I should just attach them to which ever character I feel like playing. It would be as easy as putting my money in the bank every time I log off.

Right now I'm leveling 4 individual handgun bullets, and I just asked myself why? I had a certain color or element theme for each of my characters but its just way too much to work on. I think I'll just go with all the ice elements since I always loved the freeze effect and blue is my favorite color.

At one point I also had 4 rising strikes to level up and 4 different sabers for each character. Why would've I just use share one among them?

As for my force I think I'll keep the buffs and resta of course but just switch exclusively to barta technics. Why have a wide variety of technics under level 10 when I can focus on 1 type and max them out? Sure not every creature is weak against ice but with my buffs and freeze effects I can probably do quite well.

What do you guys think? (I'm blue da ba de da ba di?)

I never share photon arts between my characters, each of my characters have their own set of photon arts. It's up to you, whatever you feel comfortable with.

Level up everything. Not just the blue photon arts. It's fine to just start out only using Ice bullets and techs, but it will quickly become a pain when you finally have to level up other things.

Also while it's not important to have every PA on every character, it is convenient to have at least two copies of certain arts/spells so that you don't have to constantly switch them around.

Of course this mainly depends on how much you play your other characters and classes, but having two copies of Rising Strike, for example, will save you time if you have two charaters, one as an Acrofighter/fighgunner and the other as an Acrotecher. It's also nice to have two copies of Resta or Giresta (more so Giresta I guess since many people don't use Resta anymore). Some people have two copies of shotgun bullets (Gunmaster/Protranser) since they level up fast and are powerful, but it doesn't sound like you are at the point in the game where you can double down on two major classes.

For the most part, if you only play three characters, one Masterforce, one Fighmaster and one Gunmaster you will be fine with one set of items, but if you are ever going to have cross contamination (Guntecher/Wartecher/Fighgunner/etc) there will be times when you'll want to have two copies of some photon arts if only to save you the frustration of moving items around constantly when you want to play a different character.

I basically use different PA's for each of my characters... Guntecher, Gunmaster, Protranser, Fortetecher ( thinking of making her a MasterForce ) I just love guns... with each of them I use different Weapons... there are a few cross-overs like Twin Handgun & Bows and they are some of my favorite weapons.

When it comes to Melee PA's and Twin Handgun each of my characters keeps their own set.
With magic I have two characters that 'share' my cache of different offensive techs; they each have their own defensive techs.
Likewise with Bullet PAs I have two characters that share what I have so they can split the bullet levelling chores.

I use the same PA's for my characters.
Better to have one set of level 40-50 PA's than 4 sets of level 20 PA's.
Though, if you have a Newman Force, of course all the techs should go to that character.
If you have a Gunner, all the bullets should go to that character.
If you have a Fighter, all the strike skills should go to that character.
Mix and match according to class.
It's not too hard to keep track of all the PA's.

(For me)
Newman (Sieno) was a GM at one point, and I used the bullets normally on my Cast (Enzylon-2). When I got Sieno's GM to 20, I gave the PA's back to Enzylon.
I just put my Tech PA's in my storage box until I was ready to use Force again.

Play one character......Make it a Male CAST and name it Alpal. And you will do fine leveling wise.

I just have 1 copy of each PA. I've never had much interest in using alt characters. Unless you change the character you use like you change your underwear...its not that troublesome to transfer a handful of PA's each time.

Oh my. I would never re-lvl techs to 50 to save time transfering them to different characters. After the supp, there wil be a lot more common box space so that tranfering PAs between charecter should be easy.

All of my characters use their own Pa's for the most. My exceptions are things like Killer shot, which I share between two characters. I'm also sharing Absolute dance and tornado dance. Also, I 've got 4 characters that each can play some sort of Force job but I only have 3 sets of buffs so two of my charaters are sharing.

Here is my take on PAs

First of all, im a techer at heart but I have good gun PAs (almost all elemental shotguns at 50, just need 3 more levels, Dark and Fire shot pass 41+) and a lot of Fighmaster PAs leveled decently, some capped...So i know how to play the different types..

My approach is this:

If you play with a certain set of PAs, its a cool thing to know you love a PA and will use it over and over again. If you cap a PA at 50 and you reach a place where you can easilly level another of the same type and name....say like this GBR that is all about Light Weapons and DoTs......then its possible that instead of using Level 50 PAs, to learn a level 1 PA and rapidly level it up to the base it needs to be good and then give it to another character.

Its a good way of doing something if you have all the types you want leveled and are just working on EXP levels.

I did this on techs..Started a new set from level 1 - 50 on some elements because by recurrence I use those techs everywhere I go....to give them to another character instead of running 10.4 million EXP from 160 - 170 with nothing to show for it outside of EXP levels.

It may not hurt....because say you love shotguns....Its easy to take a level 50 shotgun, buy another level 1 shotgun....go to mag' twice and then continue on the GBR for the fifth bullet and have another stable Shotgun PA running for another character.

I've noticed in PSU, the better you are at multitasking, the better your four characters are off. By Multitasking I don't mean all types leveled to 20....I simple mean using your linear time to accomplish multiple things at once.

First I would like to say I agree that sharing the PA's with all 4 characters is the best way to go.

Secondly, you totally got this song stuck in my head again.

I have duplicates of several PAs at various levels, but that's still a hold-over from back before you could transfer PAs to other characters. Now, I'll switch them around when desired, though like mentioned above, if I have one maxed out that I use on multiple characters, I sometimes use the lower level duplicate just to level it so I won't have to switch that one eventually.

I don't share PAs....too lazy to switch them over every time. I have very few duplicates on other characters anyway.

I'll swap bullets and techs around, but I tend to let my characters do their own things when it comes to melee PAs. Only problem now is that each of my characters have some level of competence with melee in their types, so my melee PAs are stretched kind of thin.

I have always done this!!! and after reading some of the responses to your idea, i just have to say...

WWHHHAAATTT!!!!??? each character levels its own PA's!? that is crazy!! it really is just as easy as dropping off meseta in the bank. I can't believe so many of you can be so wasteful!!

while some of the characters share PAs, it'd be as annoying as anything to have to swap them between characters each time i want to play after will has been playing. we have two sets of buffs for that reason. :p

When you have a PS2 and you use the "Log Out" option in the menu... switching characters takes around two to three minutes compared to a PC's twenty-ish seconds.

Because of this reason, I level up several copies of the same PA for my characters - besides, there really isn't much else to do aside from socialising in the game.

They should just make it so you raise one character and you can just change their class or race or gender or everything whenever you want for like a 10000 fee. HAHHAHA.

this is why i just hit eject on my PS2. it lets you log back on at the ID screen which is just a few button presses from character select so it saves about 2 minutes.

as for PA discs, each of my characters has their own sets. I only have one "force" character so she has all the techs. I have two full sets of twin handgun and single handgun bullets for my AF and GM. the rest of my bullets for rifle, laser and shotgun are on my GM. My FM has her own set of skills, and my AF has her own set. It would definitely be easier to level up just one set over all four characters, but it's more of a hassle for me to switch over to each character since i switch characters a lot.

Meh, unless my main char or main alt change class I tend to stick with the ones I have. Seeing as they're totally different classes anyways lulz. XD So I see no need to switch back n forth.

Well right now I have all 4 races. I have 2 hunters 1 ranger and 1 force. So basically they each have their own unique set of PAs. All the bullets on the ranger and all the technics on the force. Since each striking weapon has two PA's and HU classes are my favorite then it works out for my two hunters. So really the only things I need to share are the few common ones like for handguns and sabers.

I could even go as far as just killing my second hunter and just leveling the fancier striking PAs on my first one. Then I could just be left with 3 characters. Fuck I could even just be leveling one character and switch job classes whenever hahaha. I guess I like to have a variety of things to level up but to a certain degree. Back in PSO I almost attempted creating all 12 classes instead of sticking to 4..

you should make a human. and just level that. and then by the time "GAS"(guardians advanced styles, PSUpedia it!) comes along. you will be able to customize it in the perfect way. and you will have a huge pool of skills to choose from if you want to make a new more dedicated character.
