Here is an example story, so I can't go twice:
_______
Classmate made a joke about animu protagonist/antagonist
Luh-eye-tuh
Yaa-guh-ME
and his
kuh-eye-kah-koo (see Mix posted fan translator note, this thread (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2391722&postcount=8))
to eat some potato chips and write in the bag, with the grease, all dramatic.
"...write a name, take another chip! Write a name.."
None of our group knew what he was talking about, but he was demonstrative enough with the acting out the scene it had potentially crossed over. Prefacing it first with, "so have you guys ever watched a Japanese animation tv show." I hesitated for any other responses then got out my "Yeah, sometimes." By then he was off and running with the anecdote.
Everyone else now not paying attention after the punchline I knew what that animuz was and told him, but then said it might have gone on too long, Luh-eye-tuh dies and the story keeps going I heard, someone spoiled it for me - didn't want to commit to such a drag on show - what's up with that?
He didn't know either, didn't watch all the way thru.
Forgot to say, I forgot the name at the time: ME-suh ME-suh, his girlfriend coming in was when I stopped watching. Too attempting to be spunky and just draining and kinda ear piercing to listen at that point. Side plot now, even if some anecdotes made some sense - her seeing names with her demon ghost dude.
It was on last weekend, and they were in the car with dad. Parking here to suicide pact nobody can hear dramatic reveal, I turned away and was doing something else that distracted from back from commercial break "blank shooting becuz I did that to do this you're going to do that, 24 hour Jack Bauer surveillance... ME-suh calm down we gotta do this, that's smart dad I will help you find da killah"
Man, next show please. No wonder I stopped watching this and it wasn't on TV for a year and more.
