Is the ATA on Force Weapons have to do with your techniques hitting or the actual weapon hitting?

Because I don't see why I would want a Rod with higher ATA, as opposed to another weapon with higher MST and lower ATA. Well .. can techniques actually miss?

Explain please. :>

Thanks!

Rods have ata in case you feel like whacking something with your stick.

Yes, the ATA is for the accuracy of your weapon. Techniques can't miss.

From my experience, on PSZ, the lock-on gets floozy in a couple of circumstances. Here's a few of the most common ones I get:

* The enemy is wobbling in-and-out of your immediate attack range (more common on HU; RA and FO get it, too, but only at extremely long-range or with mechguns)

* I've been holding L+Down+Left for more than a second or two, as in retreating while circling. I'm not sure, though, this may just be my personal DS being wonky.

* You never really had a solid lock-on to begin with. Most often, this happened with those freaking Finjers streaking across my screen at a 90' angle. The cursors would appear, start to close in, and the "cla-link" sound would chime, but the arrows never got fully on-target. So I'd hold L, and instead of targeting, my screen would just whip violently to one side and they'd be gone already.

I'm sure there's more, and the second one is more likely to be a hardware problem on my end, the more I think about it, but I'm leaving it in there to see if anyone else has the same problem. Who knows? It might be a minor glitch.

What's funny about that is how the slicers have a far lower ATA than the wands, yet at the same time they're the ones you would expect to melee with since they have enough of a range to span three throws when doing a combo when nothing is there. It pisses me off to have it yet not be able to melee while in hard mode.
