Bad luck with drops....

I know RNG is RNG, but really....I think I have the worst luck with drops sometimes.

Well, lemme rephrase that....I get awesome 6 & 7* guns all the time....however, 99% of the time...they have no fucking photon art.

I got an awesome Riverman Missouri yesterday with like light lvl3 and something to the effect of 20-25% in native and machine and 15% in dark....and the thing has no photon art!
I thought I was going to rip my DS in half.

Happens to us all, I think the worst that an item could be missing is the PA. I remember being all happy when I get my White Disaster until I saw it had no PA. I know it's a Force weapon, but still.

As a CAST, PAs are all I got....take that away from me and I have to rely on my sheer sexiness to win fights alone.

I kind of go through a checklist of sorts when looking over a weapons stats:

1). Is there a PA? If not, I usually dont even bother. Then-
2). What are its percents? 30+ in at least one category is nearly required, unless a rare.
3). What's its element? The last thing I check for, though a good one can offset bad percents.

So yeah, I guess in some ways its a nice thing that some of the rarest weapons in the game have "set" PA's and elements, cuts down on the hunting a bit at least :/

I found a Milius Breaker with Dynamo Spin PA. I've seen reports that it has only has Over End PA. I'm wondering is MB has a set PA or did something happen on my end?

Yeah I seem to find a boat load of rare guns and alot of generic canes with my hunter its no big deal i guess tho as I just save the best ones in my joint trunk for my RA and FO I plan on using later on. Sadly I found a Zahhak with no %s wtf!

Yea, im beginning to think youre more prone to get weapons you cant use. Sadly, my only character is a RAcast....I have no interest in playing anything else.

As for Zahhaks.....ive probably found a dozen or so thus far. I just sell em >_<
Wands and rods too....all sorts of 6 and 7* crap thats completely worthless to me...

I have the same feeling. I have tons of weps for other character classes, especially rangers, but yet have to find a 6star sword.

Are you sure it is a Milias Breaker? Humilias can drop 2 versions of his sword, milias breaker and milias sword. Sword is the weaker 6 star version and can have 3 different PAs.

As a ranger, I usually don't get RA rares, but I get a lot of Force and Hunter rares.
When I DO get RA rares, they rarely have PAs :|
It's like they programmed it so that every Ranger is Skyly, every Hunter is Pinkal, and every Force is Viridia...

I get RA and FO weapons out the ass. I get HU ones too, but really, its mostly RA, then some FO, and a little HU.

Okay i play on flashcard first worst drops only pots etc.
And in Eternal Tower hard i got better drops from the Mothers...
But i patched my rom (so i can going online with ppl with the real card) and now the drops are fixed!

Illegal PSZ really got worst drops. (No techs and like that.)

This isn't true at all. Played on an Edge DS until level 15 and found techs and rare items. Bought the game but my cousin has been playing on my Edge DS pirated version and he's been finding everything.

He's level 33 now and has found all the spells, some rare swords and guns, etc., etc.

Either

A) There's a broken release out there
B) There's certain flash cards which aren't stealthy enough that PSZ detects
C) The rumor about nerfed drops on the pirated version is total BS.

I'm going with C.

I do think tho there might be some type of drop rate difference based on class and maybe even gender. I mean I got a femini Soul without even looking for it and massive amounts of Ranger and force weapons. but my Hunter drops have been scarce. Not that I am complaining cause my slot 2 Ramarl has all types of good stuff for her to use when I level her. I wish some one had a definitive answer for drop rates.

This is a retarded question... but for those who are used to either not using the PA like in PSO or don't use it anyway... what's the big deal about PA's? I mean I love gunblades even if they are kind of a (glitch aside) pathetic weapon. But when I get a PA that ISN'T Earth's bullet or w/e it's called I never use it anyway. So My question is I suppose, what's the difference between no PA and a more or less useless one?

the hell? if a weapon got no PA, then you got no PA to use. if its a useless PA you dont like, use it or dont use it. simple as that

I'm with Lunar here. And am glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. PA's in PSU was great cause it had it's own seperate button icon. So that way, you can link it into your melee combo. Now on the DS, you're forced to hold down the button to charge, it's lost it's melee combo aspect. And seems to only be a situational only part of playing for me.

Unless there's PA's out there that can delay/stun (not status effects) or knock-up/back/down enemies like in PSU.

But the PA's I've seen so far, just does extra damage in different various area effects, while giving up your 3 hit combo attacks. The only time I see myself using them is when I actually have time to run up to an enemy to charge (mainly on boss fights, and entering a new room). But I hardly end up using one DURING a fight. Is this odd?

I find myself doing the attack pattern of 1 - 2 - 3 - charge PA while 3 is in motion, then release. PAs are also fun to show off when you're playing with random people in Free Play, just for fun.

I've played both the JP and US versions on an R4III and an Acekard2i, and the drop rates seem to be just fine. I found plenty of lv. 12-15 spells while in hard mode, and I'm not having any trouble picking up 6-star weapons like candy in Super Hard. 7-stars are what I actually have to look for.

Photon arts in general are pretty situational for most weapons. As a hunter, the only real PA I wind up charging for right after combos are Grand Cross and Zeta Slash, for Dagger and Saber respectively. If either of those weapons don't have said PAs I don't use them, simple as that--just how I play my daggers, and sabers sort of suck if you just rely on the 3-hit combo.
In general however, I use my PAs for groups and the occasional hit n' run bosses, but I do have to say that the super armor has gotten me killed several times...like once when the octopus on Hard decided to spin the moment I used over end...wasn't pretty.
