Obnoxious Weapon-Whiners: bother you yet?

Usually, I don't run around complaining on people...however, this is just too wierd and stupid to ignore.

I've got people complaining about the weapon I use, almost in every game I join. But it's not for what you're thinking! I'm not a BKB useing EXP stealing psycho, or a lazy n00b hitting 0's off monsters with a handgun, and only casting one spell for exp.

The opposite of both, really. I use a Last Survivor, and as a HUcast, I have the power to put behind it. It has 50% hit on it, so I rarely miss, and it's one of my best items. I do decent damage, not overkill or freeload. And yet...everyone screams at me that I am a horrible, horrible thing for using this weapon.

and my favorite
"That weapon makes me want to vomit"

Everyone who says stuff like that is using either a psycho wand, BKB, J-sword or one of the DarkFlow type weapons. FOs RAs and hunters rail on me and this sword. I've had a whole team use the word select to insult me. I don't steal, I'm polite, and I pull my weight and then some. My only crime seems to be that I don't dupe/take dupes, or have any desire to be an exact clone of everyone I meet.

Have any of you run into the same problem? I mean, really, if a person is damageing, who the heck cares what they're useing to do it, and why go out of your way to try and get rid of them?

I just tune people out now-a-days, don't let idiots get to you. It's sometimes fun to toss insults back at them, but they rarely understand the very same language they supposedly are speaking.

Pfft, that's pretty lame... Sounds to me like it's some kind of stupid "Look, my ultra-duped Black King Bar is better than your puny little Last Survivor!" kinda thing. Jerks.
Never really happens me, though... Occasionally I think I go a little too tech-happy in the early difficulties and get a complaint or two, but I'm really pretty careful when it comes to EXP hogging.

one time i was online at about level 20 or 25 with my hunewearl and i went and joined a hard team. and they were all like what weap is that. i replyed berdys (partisan note sure of spelling not the rare) anbd they said uhhh is that a 9 star and i said no its a 3 star and they were all like wow its been so long since i've seen anyone using a weak weap like that you must suck and started giving me varistas and 9 star elemental weapons (now i was thankful for the free weaps but i mean seriously i pulled my own weight in the team) it was jsut wierd that they were all like "OH you use normal weapons uhhh"

Yeah, I got that too while using the old Last Survivor. And I was a HUmar for christ sakes. Of course, this lame comment came from a dupe using fool. You know... The ones with Double Cannon, and Dreamcast mags? I'm sure you've seen them around! And my Last Survivor isn't even as cool as yours! You'll always find a couple of idiots, wanting to add the two cents in... Too bad, their two cents, doesn't even come close to what you offering, as a true legit player, and upstanding team player. Ignore them, throw them in the trash, and laugh in their faces. Then spit on them. Their a pathetic breed, that will always hang around, like a bad stench in your basement. You just have to ignore it, and make it to the fridge. Grab a soda, and run back upstairs to PSO. ^_^

Huh. And here I always LIKED how Last Survivor looked. Though personally I prefer my Zanba (I LIKE the Cloud-sword look, okay?)

Some people simply don't get that sometimes plain, vanilla weapons are actually better. Rappy Fans are still used, simply because finding anything demonstratably better is rare. Vulcans with good elementals and percentages can own even the mighty red mechguns, and usually they're the best option for Hunters. Non-rare types are common enough that you can find them with amazing percentaged (I once found a set of vulcans with 70% hit and 50% dark!)

Me personally, I tend to chose weapons for style rather than absolute power. As long as it gets the job done, I'm happy. And no one should fault you in your weapons choices, regardless of what you prefer.

er, right. I've been busting my ass to find a Last Survivor, i think it's one of the best looking weapons in PSO. It's straight out of Battle Angel.

During the days of PSOver1 and 2, I was always around people that would jump down new joined players throats for the type of weapon they used. Like "WTF you using a lavis cannon!" Or "Where did you get that!?"

My main weapon was always Sinow Beats Blade. And typically people would complain to me about it. Like "why do you always use that, it sucks at your level(109)". Uhm whatever, I don't care, people have weapon preferences. Just shut up and play the game.

I think just about everyone is going to meet people like the ones you described. I just ignore them as they act like a bunch of fucking retards. The only thing worse than dupes are the ppl complaining about it, yay for you and the LS, good HIT%'s. Jsut so happens my Red Sword has the same HIT %'s and 15% on A.Beast, yes its' legit =P. Also this just seems to be another rant on ppl who dont happen to find 10 star rares with good %'s so-dont-blame-me-for-using-a-9-star rant. Well use your LS if your on my team, Awesome.....i welcome any effective HUcast, be it Last Survivor or J-whatever, lol. Peace. Please dont hate.....

A little trick I picked up from watching someone else from PSOW do i thought was hilarios to get rid of weapon whiners...

Tell the weapon whiner to make a game and tell him you'll go get your stuff while they create it. ^_^ Then never do it and just sit there. Woohoo!

At least it rids of them for about 5 minutes <_<

Tjis never happens to rangers, because their 9 stars are actually good.(Justy and Combat are great weps) I love my Combat with no %s!:D

Yep, happened to me with my stag cuterly. (and at the fact that i don't have a power mag)A good way to counter the insults is to say its your best weapon. I did that when i was lvl 90-91 and they simply stoped. Course, that only works for lower levels. For others, just say its your first time online, they can't prove you wrong. Then again that is kinda running from your problems but hey, ill take if i can play in peace.

I have those comonly duped weps the only thing is...there legit the only reason why is becuase i got corrupt and my friends would rather a red sword (i do to) then a j...but sence every one complains when i use it i just stick to asukas and boy they are good!

Heh, now you've got me wanting to make Alita on PSO. I could even make her a hunewearl and get away with it...hint hint, last few panels in the very last TPB.

Insulting somebody for using a weaker weapon is a childish act. The next time this happens, don't say anything. Giving them attention is like adding fuel to the fire.

At first I was going to say that maybe they had lesser weapons and didn't want you dealing all the damage. Then I read that one of them had a J-sword. Now they're just being jerks about it. Yamatos arnt that bad...their very very common but if you max them there pretty good. And vulcans are then best non-rare wepon...ever...i use them all the time when i find them...some times vulcans are better then the rare guns!

Combats are all about having hit %. That's what makes them useful.

i wont even use the dbl cannon dark flow or dreamcast mag i have because people are all like "o u suck u dupeing asshole"and thier not even my rares my friend is let me use them till i lvl up to lvl 100 and my mag is back to lvl 200 dam fsod.its just sad.people like that are just stupid.but oh well not much i can do.lol

Wow, this has been such a great response. I didn't know if I was the only one (sometimes I think I am a trouble magnet) but apparently everyone runs into their share of lameness--no matter how strange. Thanks for the encouraging words everyone! It's great to know that there's all kinds of people out in the game for the purpose of having a great time and meeting new friends, no matter what you are useing.
