I know this is old news, and that there are other tutorials out there, but this is from my intro series I made for some friends on basic Photoshop functionality. I hope someone gets something out of it :P

How to accurately select your character in Photoshop:
(After step 2, but before step 3, just hit delete to clear the excess junk; I made this tutorial with the assumption that the people reading it would have that goal in mind, although I could have definitely made it clearer :o )

What exactly does the Tolerance setting do for the Magic Wand..?

What exactly does the Tolerance setting do for the Magic Wand..?

It determines how different neighboring colors need to be, to be excluded from the selection.
