Just thought this could be entertaining, i'm a Cast Ranger and i wouldnt be anything else up to this point, how many of you out there are rangers? when I play free play, I so far have run into more hunters than anything else followed up by a steady number of forces (meaning usually 1 in a party) but I hardly see Rangers much more Cast Rangers. So who is what? and I mean your main,the one you like to play most as, or if you cant decide, your first choice as a character. Im interested sorry if this has been posted...

Sorry to say but I play my Hucast more then my other two which is my Ramar and Hunewm but I tend to play Ramar more when I online. Yeah my Hunewm doesn't get much love although recently I been leveling him up so I can take on the eternal Tower hard mode using him.

I swear that Sega has a hidden vendetta against Ranger lovers. Finding a good gun seems to happen way less often than finding good melee or tech weaponry when I play with my friends.
Most of the Ranger Photon Arts are just crap, too, the mech gun arts for example are just weird. Why have an attack that makes you jump back while shooting a very short rapid fire mech gun burst when you have to be point blank to get all of the already very weakened hits to actually connect to the target, Acro Step? Then there's the one that has your character firing bullets in super slow motion, it's just laughable, you're spinning in place, firing bullets that seem to be moving even slower through the air than feasibly possible, like an idiot, while every one else and the mobs are running all over the place.
Also, RAmar and RAmarl can't use Shifta and Deband anymore. Why?
To my surprise, I find that being a Force, FOmarl to be exact, is the funnest way for me to play the game, and I usually go with rangers 1st in other Phantasy Star games. Weapon damages being based on technic power, it's about time, right?

I love rangers, but Sega didn't for PS Zero, it seems. Oh, and bullet resistant enemies, too? Just, no.

It's simple, they were watching the matrix when they coming up ideas for the mech gun PA and though "Hey wouldn't it be cool if we apply matrix style moves as the mech gun PA?"

I was pretty excited to see what kind of Arts a mech gun could pull off, when I first made my PS Zero's RAcaseal.
Disappointment soon settled in afterward, however. They look cool, but the programming is just off, somehow.

I voted Hunter as my HUcast is my Highest level but I enjoy playing all classes, I have one character from each race with one of each class. I love the three :)

Why?To be honest, I think they should have reversed it, and given rangers buffs, and hunters debuffs, since hunters have to get close to attack, they could debuff and go at it, and the rangers could buff them before they go before going about their own business.

I don't actually know the range on debuffs, but I don't like the idea of rangers having to run in and debuff, then run away again, rather than hunters debuffing before closing in.

Like I said before though, I play RAcaseal, so I don't actually need to worry about that, but still.

Not to sound like a Cast advocate, 'cause I'm not. It just happens that on PSO and PSZ my main characters are Casts.

PSO:
lv. 123 HUcast (M.H.R.I.P., damnable memory card corruption)
lv. 95 RAcast (M.H.R.I.P., same damned card)
lv. 76 HUnewearl

PSZ:
lv. 48 HUmar (they're more versatile than casts in solo play, especially with nerfed traps)
lv. 30 RAcast
lv. 24 FOnewm

I have to admit, though, I agree with the Mechgun PA's. Even with the halfway decent ones, the charge time is so spastic that the PA damage vs. straight attacking ratio makes them sucktarded.

Though my RAcast seems to be doing much better using his ground-up Vraolet with Earth Bullet and spamming the hack-hack-bang exploit than mechguns, surprisingly. Perhaps I just haven't found decent mechguns yet.

P.S. How the f....... er, flip do you pronounce Vraolet?

Since my main is a HUnewearl I voted Hunter, but I do have a Ranger and a Force on my game as well, although they're low-level at the moment, they're seeing more attention than my main since she's at the Tower.

I don't feel like doing the Tower yet, so I'm leveling up my other characters instead :-P

wow did not expect this much feedback,well in my opinion, sure we're outdamaged by the other classes,they get better pa's,better weapons etc. but to be honest, thats what makes a ranger great to me, knowing that I don't need to be severly overpowered to be efficient, and really, it just makes you a better player cus you have to find ways to be more effective, I personally love lazers, I make my screen lag when I use Bio Panic cus i hit like 6 enemies at once and it only takes like 2 Bio Panics to kill everything and for those who have tried lazers on falz, you know how great it is, Falz has two hit points and if you shoot from a distance you deal heavy damage on him and his little flowing ball thingys, I recently found a HeatOrtlinde, grinded it to 10, and it really dishes out the damage, I can agree the mech guns are a bit....weird..and whats the point of bazookas if their single target? might as well use a rifle, but so far I love Handguns, quick and deal decent damage, Rifle, deals good long distance damage better known as support damage, and Lazers just cus I love the Bio Panic PA. I love Rangers! not saying im only gonna use ranger classes but to me its what makes the game so much fun! I felt like i killed things way too fast as a hunter, and I won't even touch force, I've seen what they could do, and I personally dont wanna be a one man army (or woman) :D

Anyone know the instructions on how to shoot handguns multiple times? I saw a Japanese ranger with a handgun shoot something 5 times in 2 seconds. Or in game time, 5 shots for 1 megid cast.

Its called Katakana.
Its a mistranslation, pronounced as Vrow Let. As said above, but thats significantly unlike its pronunciation in japanese.

I don't have this game yet, but my first character is definately going to be RAcaseal. It has to be the most awesome thing I have ever seen, and in games where you choose between warrior, mage and ranger, I always enjoy rangers the most. Even if they've been nerfed from PSO, I still think they look fun.

I'm playing as a humar and I love it. I'm love melee but I'm a mix of tech and range. I have no clue what I'm going choose later down the road so I'm sticking with Humar.
