The "Can't-revive/heal with any spells/items" theory.

Right, so we've heard a few people complaining that they can't heal or revive online in their versions of PSO. Last time I was one this forum someone mentioned that I'd better get my domain version or I won't be able to heal or revive (so this isn't my theory,I'm not taking his cred).

Anyway, can anyone else back this up? Playing an import region PSO on you DC results in being unable to heal or revive others online? I need to know, choosing which verison to buy..

why would you buy an import?

1. Because its not out here yet.

2. Because the US version probably has better server support

3. Because Ozisoft have proven to be so shonky in the past, that their announced release date of "early March" is just to hard to trust.. especially for an online game. Australia does not have ONE online game yet.


Can anyone add to the theory though??

Yup, you won't be able to use Moon Atomizer to revive falled teammate when you play PSO from a different region than your DC.

Besides this problem, I don't think there are anything else. (maybe less rare loot, my pinkel RAcast seems to agree)

I am American, I live in Germany. I have an NTSC (American) Dreamcast. I play online in Germany via a German ISP.

I CAN Resta and Reverser and Anti people online. Not sure about the Moon Atomizer, never tried one of those so it sounds like Anthroplasm has it pegged. Not sure about the less rare loot. I find all kinds of varistas and db sabers and those are mega rare http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_wink.gif

Why is every ?SpecialWeapon a Varista or a DB's Saber? DB's Saber isn't even near as good as my Charge Gladius...

Er, you didn't say if you were using a PAL or NTSC version of PSO. I'm guessing you meant PAL PSO in an NTSC DC?

Can anyone else support the "Moon Atomizer only" twist to the theory?

Elrathan, if you have US PSO and US DC, then you have absolutely no problem. You can bring that setup to Japan or South Africa and it will work like a charm.

Defend, I am just gripping about lack of rares. I have found about 2 Uber-rare ATM, and bunch of standard rares. Not seen a single rare monster, and my RAcast is lvl 61.

Most people have ran into more rare than me at this point, but then there are people who have found less. Being a pinkel doesn't help because I probably sold all the high level spell disks I found.

So, besides the Moon Atomizer problem, I don't think you have much to worry about. Just warn the people you play with so they prepare themselves with Scape Doll (self-revive).

I do have the same problem, I use the US PSO version on my german DC, it really sucks that u cant heal others!!
when i played the japanese version on the same DC it worked well
i really hope there will be a solve for this prob

I was surprised to see this thread back up, but now it is important. I've learnt a bit in the last month. As predictted.. Ozisoft's "early March" has now turned into March 30". Aussies still don't have PSO.

Now, what the problem seems to be is boot discs. I can't comment on wether the CDX will work, because as far as I know the bug only occurs when using a PAL DC, not JAP NTSC.

Anyway, I have had 6 to nil cases supporting the theory. Boot disc = bugged US PSO on PAL DC, mod chip = no bug.


I am having trouble testing solutions though, I can only get into contact with people who have either a modchip, or no other swap disc besides the standard boot disc.


So anyone who reads this, and has a US PSO on PAL UNMODDED DC, please test this theory for me (us all).

Boot PSO on your PAL DC using a:

Boot disc
CDX disc
gameshark (BTW, this makes your DC output an NTSC signal)

For each method, if you could try moon atomizers or heal/revive/support speels that target teammates ONLINE, it would be greatly appreciated.
