Just today, there was a thing on the news about a facial recognition computer program that didn't work for some black guy, but it did for his white co-worker, so there was speculation that his computer might be racist. And this is why the US is going to have problems. Society as a whole has become far too concerned with superficial things and irrelevancies (I could rant for a while on this with regards to politics). We've already been surpassed in education. Same for health care. (Has anyone in Congress even bothered to look at life expectancy in the places they're bashing for having "socialized health care"? For that matter, public schooling and teenage employment isn't just socialist, it's downright communist, as proposed by none other than Karl Marx (http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Manifesto_of_the_Communist_Party/Chapter_II)! </imitation=politician/pundit>)

Alright, mini rant time on health care. (I'm in a foul mood, so I'm ranting to cool off :wacko:) Quick research via wikipedia puts the US at #38 in life expectancy. Notable countries ahead of us? Cuba, communist/dictatorship at 37. Oh, Puerto Rico is at 31, and the Virgin Islands are at 24. Drastically better than the mainland US.

And at number 11... is Canada. I thought "socialized" health care was bad for us? Canadians have 2.5 years on us in life expectancy. And they seem to be the prime target for why public health care is bad. (I don't like the term socialist, its used solely for the negative connotations left over from the cold war, rather than any actual meaning) Oh, wait, these are UN figures. Lets see what the US government says. Canada... is... #8. Seriously. And the US is... #50. Yeah. By the way, this is from the CIA (https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2102rank.html). If the CIA can't compile life expectancy figures, we're in REAL trouble.

Another rant done. I think I'm done now.

Edit:Linked the Marx thing. Scroll to the bottom. It's being completely ridiculous to call something communist because Marx proposed it, but that's where we are in society, imo. #10 in that list at the bottom.
