View Full Version : PSP2 OMG...Cubo Simba...what have they done to you?

So I managed to get my hands on 2 good % Cubo Simbas the other day, and with them being my fav one handed weapon in PSU AOTI, I was hella estatic. However all my hopes and dreams came crashing to the floor when I saw the watered down, shadow of formal self bullet animation for the weapon. It looks nothing like it did before (see PSU database for pics), it looks terrible in this version, mimicking orange smoke trails with cross-shaped arrows. Where's the blinding yellow light and feathers manifested with each shot that I've come to love?
Needless to say I'm horribly disappointed =(, I was hoping maybe I had picked up Cubo Simbac instead...but according to the JP item dump translation, it is in fact cubo simba... So my question is...is it possible they removed that sexy animation and placed it on a higher level crossbow (13*+)? I don't know what any of the uber crossbows look like yet but I'm just utterly shocked at how toned down it looks in this version, especially since every single rare ranger weapon I've come across so far is identical(shigga pakuda/Cubo Tuma included) to their PSU AOTI counterpart...So..what gives?

maybe they Finally realized that flashy blinding lights are NOT needed in the first place and they removed it?

It was needless and just created extra lag anyway.

It had to of been 1 of 2 things.
1: They saw that there was an extreme graphical slowdown, due to how absolutely insane it is.
2: They realized that you don't need a super laggy over the top bullet to make a weapon good.
Either way, the weapon is still good. >_>

Exactly.
With everyone elses logic in this thread, sounds like all weapons should have no aesthetic difference compared to C rank weapons, sounds pretty damn boring. Dunno bout everyone else but a strong aesthetic appeal for me is all the more rewarding for unique rares.

What gives? This game wasn't created by idiots, thats what.
Imagine 4 people spamming the old effect on a PSP. Not a good idea.
How strong was Cubo Simba anyway? I personally think the effect was misleading anyway, crossbows sucked.
