It's over. I am quitting this game.

The decsion to finally throw in the towel came since last night. 4 weeks of no updates outside of a christmas decoration. Nothing has changed at all such as...

- Majority still playing White Beast.

- Kicking people out of parties for the most BS reasons ever, such as not using a damn mic.

- Idiots sitting around in lobbies blowing $10 a month to get attention on themselves.

- No new difficulties in missions that badly need them.

- The censor.

- Connection issues.

- Sega mailing it in during the holidays.

- No sponsored events since the G4 cup or whatever it was.

- Big inflated egos. I know alot of these types of games have them, but these folks were just complete eletist a-holes.

- Do I have to mention the ending of PSU's story?


These are just some of many reasons why it is now over for me. From 2006 when the game first came out and I had it preordered, to 2009 where this game is in the shitter because of Sega's "I don't give a fuck" attitude towards the regions outside of Japan.

Say what you want and try and sugar coat it. But there is no excuse for us being behind Japan this much by 2 years. No reason whatsoever. I hear it's almost a ghost town on the PS2/PC servers. And judging by the 4 stars or less universe 1 I've been seeing this past month, looks like the Xbox 360 is losing people too....people like me. And I don't blame them for leaving.

I'm gonna be giving away all my stuff too to whoever wants it on a first come first serve every player for themself basis.

After tommorrow, I'm gonna make the call and cancel. So if you want any of my stuff...you better contact me now.

It's over for me. I'm trading in this game at a Gamestop whenever I get the chance. I'm not blowing $10 on a game that had tons of promise, only to flounder later in years.

As for any of you that added me in this game and on XBL....I dunno. I don't even know if I'll be playing any other games with any of you...seeing as I don't even own half the games you do. Oh and did I mention I'm not renewing XBL gold ether after January 6?

What Sega did here is proof of how they run their business. While I'll never hate them, I.....I don't know.

Generally "I'm leaving" threads are designed to pull attention to yourself from people who need re-enforcement of their decision. It draws aggravation because he seems extremely self centered. The perception is "What good is it to tell people you've never played with goodbye? Why don't you just tell the people you played with?"

Sometimes people just want to be told to stay. Sometimes they have far too many friends to try and tell individually. Some people really just want whatever attention they can get positive or negative. Whatever the reason it's bound to rub some people the wrong way.

The main reason I quit was mainly due to money issues. That and lack of real content. Most people were spamming/bugging me for White Beast. Couldn't take it. The game got boring. Oh and you weren't l33t Pr0 if you didn't have a Guardian's Formal.

And Delete, I'm not renewing my XBL gold membership because of 2 reasons....

1) I don't play with anyone in any of the games I own. Half the games they own I don't even have.

And 2) I'm saving money so I can move into a place of my own with a friend from work. This is also one of the reasons I quit PSU as well.

I really don't need online gaming to be honest. I'm not the type that cares too much about achievements ether. The only games I really played online were Phantasy Star games. I played a cuple of NBA2K games, and one time tried WWE online but I ran into a cheater. Halo 2 and 3....I was horrible. Those were the only times I played any other game online. Take a look at the games I've played on my XBL list. Some of them I don't own anymore. But it will give you a very good understanding of why I don't need XBL Gold right now.

And for those of you saying I made this thread to get attention....well you're just looking into this way too damn much. I needed to let everyone know why I was quitting and I stated my reasons based on my own experince playing the game online.

Oh well, I'll look forward to the FF14 Beta once it comes out. In the meantime, I've got Pokemon Diamond, LBP, my new Christmas games, and Mario Kart/Brawl to play online with my old PSU buds. (If any of you guys play those games, hit me up!)

My favorite bypass is the asshoIe, but in PSU it looks like asshole.

I just hope FF14 is solo friendly and isn't grind-happy. I'm actually quite happy with Dungeon Fighter Online which is a side scrolling beat em up RPG. I just wish UPS would stop dry humping the packages and get that pencil outta they're ears and give me my damn package. That sucker is 2 days late. What a buncha stupid twazzers. Quantifying your hours per PSO games might make you feel accomplished. And how much you spent altogether just rolls off your back.

Tabulating both the hours and money spent on PSU, probably just makes you mad.

I spent $60 retail @ release, and one year of Xbox subscription and that $180 was enough. Got out before succumbing to any White Beast daily roundups, booting brigades, etc. Can't imagine how much people spent (time and money) and continued on with a game they really are not having fun on.

That's not even the worst of it. Just look at the xbl accomplishment whores, sega stuck it to them the worst. ~$90 for PSU retail & AOI DL, and ~$380 in subscriptions (if you never cancelled). That's not even factoring in how many PSU discs you went through due to getting scratched up from runtimes, or 360's that had to be repaired due to rrod that was caused by extensive play times.

So on the light side, they spent roughly $470 to stick with the game and get that last xbl accomplishment, for a game they most likely do not enjoy playing at this point. What a deal.

I still don't understand how Sega thinks that they can charge a subscription on a game that's not persistent.

Lots of RPGs have online multiplayer these days and don't charge for the privilege - If Sega wants to compete, they'll have to accept that outside of MMOs, consumers these days don't generally accept a game that requires both an initial investment AND a monthly subscription.

I requested that my account be terminated at one point, but the mods apparently couldn't do that, if that's what you're referring to. Of course, I was very pissed with the community at that point, but I've gotten over it. Nowadays, I mostly post in rants, off-topic, or FKL anyway.

And to answer your question in the most reserved fashion I can without getting myself into trouble again, people tend to get angry over a lot of things, whether it's trivial or not. Some DO just quit, others like me and Squirrel complain because we know that there are big problems that have yet to be resolved that other people should know about (and PLEASE don't start in about the whole "we know about PSU's problems, you should stfu - this applies to other things too). Other people just try to come in and make a big deal about it by making fun of the people who quit, and then things get ugly. If you don't like hearing about it, then don't come into these types of threads. I don't know what else to tell you, and I'd rather not get into these kinds of discussions again, because I feel you're dangerously close to trying to flame me over my past actions.

Sounds like a plan to me. If it gets popular enough, it'll just further prove that PSU had more flaws than the other PS games and desperately needs to be fixed, or replaced with another title (NOT a handheld one). Of course, I highly doubt the mods would be for it, but at least it'd get give more incentive for rage-quitters to put their comments in one spot and keep the rants section more organized. I also think it'd also give possible newcomers to PSU a chance to weigh the pros and cons of the game. Course, I'm still banned from the PSU General section of the forums, so I don't know wtf's going on there anymore, but something tells me it's just more of the same...
