Does this even apply to PSO? I thought there were no codes on AR for GC PSO. Am I misinformed?

There's aways a chance of obstinated people break in the codes encryption and start making codes ... and diferently from Game Cube discs, Xbox discs can be easily read with a moded Xbox or even with a PC, maybe .... Having the executables in a PC some can figure out the encryption by reverse engineering.

That's somehow what Barubary did with DC PSO and is now doing with GC PSO.

Good part of this is that doing something like that is very hard, whick leaves the "average Joe" who make codes away from that goal.

It seems to me that the Xbox AR is a USB memory card and "user friendly" hex editor PC software that edits only certain parts of save data (IE the amount of ammunition you had the last save). No software actually runs on the Xbox, and you can't back up uncopiable files (IE This would be PSO). So, it's not possible to edit PSO files using the Xbox AR.

Getting software that would allow you to do what the card's software doesn't allow shouldn't be that too hard to get... Afterall, there are more than a few Microsoft haters out there that probably have the know-how to make it.

Oh, I know people will do that. However, the software apparently has to be updated to work with new games (So it'll edit the right values), and Datel won't be adding support for games like Phantasy Star Online. In fact, PSO wouldn't be supported anyway - I don't think you can put characters onto a memory card with Xbox PSO.

Ah yes, they're saved on the HDD. But what about offline multiplayer?

What about it? I'm unfamiliar with how it works on Xbox PSO. I'm not likely to be getting an Xbox any time soon, so I haven't really taken much of a notice in it at all.

You can put up to 1 character at a time on a mem card to transfer to a friends xbox to play spitscreen. However, the character must be re-integrated onto your xbox before it is allowed online. Noob question here, what exactly is AR?

Heh, I just read throught the Codjunkies post.... "Soon you'll be able to check out the latest saves online, only at CodeJunkies, the home of Action Replay. Or why not prove you’re the best gamer by uploading your own top saves and sharing them with the CodeJunkies community? "

Can someone please explain to me how you can be a "best gamer" when you are cheating?

You can't. Cheating is no substitute for skill. They just say that as a marketing gimmick.

the only time i used ever used a GameShark type device was AFTER i beat a game. and even afterwards i never used certain codes like invincibility or infinite health. It seemed kinda cool starting the game from the beginning with some advanced shit after lugging my way thru the game the first time. But in a way i want the Action Replay to come out; That way all the cheaters can log on to Xbox Live! and get their candy asses banned!
