Art programs

Does anyone know of any good free downloadable art programs available?

GIMP has pretty much all the essential stuff. The layout is rather unique though. (Basically, it opens a few seperate windows, instead of everything being in one window on a background. I think there's mods that make it look more like Photoshop and such, though.)
