Just wondering what you thought of the wepoans and outfits you have to pay for as oppose to the free ones. Which ones worth getting etc.

The ones you like, those are worth.

Thanks for that amazing response. Its kind of hard for me to try all the weapons without buying them all, so I asked a simple question to see what people who had downloaded them thought of them.

Its is a discussion about if people bothered to downloaded them.
Its a descussion about if people liked what they downloaded.
Its a discussion about what they liked about them.
Its a discussion if they felt a particular ones was worth the download.

So it's not a discussion if there wasn't one that was worth downloading?

Personally, I like the free ones best. Holiday themed items are nice but I'm only going to get around to using them once a year. I like the VC2 weapons look and I like the male cast parts. If I could get an Anchor King or the Little Wing saber / shield, I'd probably use those almost regularly.

There wasn't really much free DLC until recently, and most of the new ones came from Valkyria anyway, which probably didn't take that much time to create methinks. Chevalier Fluge isn't exactly premium goods imo.

Personally, I find that only the Santa Dress is worth anything - that reindeer outfit is comical to look at, but I doubt most people would want their brave hero to look like that. On the other hand, miniskirts are always a good thing, and who's going to argue against making your female characters more sexy? ^^

On the other hand, all those "festive weapons" are a joke. I'm not paying for weapons that look silly, are merely novelties that probably aren't as strong as regular weapons, and look more akin to modified room goods repurposed to work as weaponry.

Let's hope Sega will keep releasing both free and paid DLC regularly. I too would love to get my hands on a Little Wing Saber/Shield and I'd pay good money if they made Repca outfits/weapons from older PS titles. (Go Nei, Mieu and Fals!)

Minor Trivia - Wearing a DL outfit/using DL weapons increases load times by a bit. Wonder if installing the game would help reduce loading times at all...?

i think not, the data from dlc are stored on different section on psp folder, thats why it take time to load.

They aren't under-powered, that's for sure. Fully ground, most of the DLC, and password weapons for the most part, are fairly powerful within their given rank.

Where do you find the Downloaded items? I downloaded the Valkyria stuff and it doesn't look like its in my inventory.

In terms of stats, I guess I did speak in error there, based on the performance of the tie-in weapons. However, I'm still maintaining that the design of those paid festive items puts them squarely in the fold of joke weaponry, and isn't something I'd be proud to pull out and declare, "Look what I bought!". ^^

Most of the tie in weapons have been pretty good for my under 40's characters actually - tis' fun to see my Santa Dress'ed Cast using a WWI / WWII inspired rifle/grenade launcher to take down high tech foes for example (and be pretty effective at taking down enemies 30 levels higher to boot).

@Alma : That's a pity then. It's a little jarring when the game freezes a couple of times whenever it first loads up the costume. Freezes in the character select screen and freezes when loading into the game or changing outfits. It's a little worse for weapons because it sometimes freezes if it hasn't loaded the weapon for some time. Hasn't affected my gameplay much though, fortunately.

You have to "import them" after you downloaded them (use the "import" option at the title screen)

Thanks Pandarino. I choose import and chose each option, so I hope that works, but I have no clue where Legacy of Light is.

You know what the worst part is, if you're playing with a Beast wearing DLC clothes, and they nanoblast, when they turn back to normal... it freezes to load the clothes. I found this out the hard way when trying to battle Mother Brain with a friend... try timing a combo or Just Guarding when the screen is freezing every other second. :l
Very lame, I hope they are at least looking for a way to improve it.

Oh well, I got too hung up on Legacy of Light to look a couple inches down. Awesome.

True. And you can only pull out that item to declare your foolery if the person you are talking too is also a fool and purchased the same item :p

Looking at what Shogai has to say about the VC2 rifle, though, is that it may in fact be over powered. It has reduced PP consumption and a greatly extend range. It may be a fixed element but it's set at 50%. So we might have the first over powered download item in our midst. At least it's free, eh?
