It reminds me of Samus.

Also that's the most overly complex shovel I've ever seen, it doesn't look like it'd work very well either.

Magic shovel, Ronin, magic (also possibly enchantment).
Who's the artist behind these, anyway?

Some guy called Tsukushi Akihito, I don't really know who he is, but I love his artwork.

For some reason it reminds me of the Elebits (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elebits) concept art:

I actually googled it after I posted that, apparently he did the artwork for that game, maybe I should try it out sometime.

The sound director for Elebits does music for Konami's music games too.

So much depth, to perceive.

Except of course the smooth, pastel, kleenex commercial w/ no nose, anime youngin's face.

Next time Japan. Next time.

Umbrella plus rain reminds of that other thing, bus stop monster, then the PSO Madam Umbreller + Hildetorr remake.

I stumbled across his site too for anyone who's interested.

Eh. It has its moments, but it's not that great.

You might want to watch "The Thing" and or its remake though for some snowbound holdout body snatcher flamethrower action. The old one holds up well enough too.

Oh and possibly avoid the Xbox game about it, found out they made one of those through some Amazon list of similar buys.

Eh. It has its moments, but it's not that great.I probably won't bother unless I see it on the cheap, though I could use another game, I only have 5 Wii games, and 3 of them suck.

I plan on getting Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom once I get paid, maybe No More Heroes too, although I didn't finish the firs tone yet.

Suda 51 interview (on the toilet) of the new stuff and such in part 2 spoiled something for me but that's not a big deal. Same as some other action game series, this plot point of the ending.

You might already know it to Ronin if you read about the other playable characters besides Travis this time.

How about "That thing" instead of "This thing"?

I grabbed Elebits for $15 at Target. If that seems low enough to you, check it out.

I just finished No More Heroes 2 and it's really great. Unfortunately, it's not quite as post-modern as the first one. It's arguably a better "game," but it's not as good as a statement, if that makes sense.

But if you're the kind of player who played the first No More Heroes and didn't care for the satirical nature of the first one and just wanted the game to be streamlined to be a traditional action game, the sequel is for you.

Sounds like a good way to bring in any more naysayers, and get new buyers/players, the streamlining. Especially if the open world stuff wasn't terribly expansive in what you can do out on the street, from the first. (Jumping cars with some timing was fun though)

Only hindrance I read about is the training missions can get more difficult, 8-bit sections and such. Then you have to repay and try again.

Satirical stuff? Like Naomi's lab and she gives you a "Hmmph, Otaku" when you leave?

Now its like 300% Shin post over there:

Same song in stores like before, the same "Heavenly Rockets" you might know from Lumines. Glad I managed to DL that for XBOX Live Arcade before I even had the game, as it did get taken down.

Eh - the sequel doesn't mock the average video game player, or have break the fourth wall as much, or point out how absolutely absurd game plots usually are by hitting all the right cliches.

Desperate Struggle is a "good" sequel for a videogame. It deals with the characters' plot lines, and adds to the universe, and it just treats everything much more seriously. The point of the first game wasn't to build strong characters or develop their relationships or anything like that. It was to make a statement about videogames. Everything else was secondary. That's not the case here - but that doesn't make it a bad game. It's a lot more fun than the first one but it's much less art and much more entertainment.

Well there is an obligatory, stay in one room and fight way too many enemies to continue - knock at games/game design philosophy, I read.

Reviewer actually didn't want any more of that kind of thing, self referential type in this one. Forgot what he did want more of, maybe didn't even mention an alternative. (More like your avg game player who may bash & not like something! Step that up, 1up.com reviewers.)

Yeah, I mean - I can understand why somebody would prefer something that's more game-y. Maybe they just want to go into the game and have something fun to play. Generally, you shouldn't expect that from an original Suda 51 game. (You could probably create an entire "Satire in Games" class using just Killer 7 and the original No More Heroes.) Arguing that games shouldn't be more than just a "game" is like arguing that movies and books should only be for entertainment purposes. It's silly and antiquated.
