I've just got JP PSP2, and been trying to play with a friend. Unfortunately, every few minutes I keep getting a Network Error (80550e18 ), and get kicked out of the game. I don't have any connection problems with anything else, only PSP2.
Anyone else get the same/have any suggestions on how to fix it? It's making online play impossible.
I saw a few references to this error on 2ch, but no fixes. Can you offer any other info about this error? Does it just happen at random?
If you use a router, forward the port.
Or simply put your PSP IP in to router's DMZ. (You need to set static IP for your PSP)

you can trust ツカガミ , because he fixed his case with the method!

Yeah, completely random, but usually when I've actually joined a game and am midway through a mission.

I've tried setting up a DMZ, and still disconnected all the time. I've forwarded the ports now but it probably won't make a difference. My PSP seems really sensitive to connection drops, even when I'm right next to the router. I'm thinking of trying a new router to be honest.
Edit: Set up a new connection on the PSP with a static IP, no disconnections yet, but I have been playing online solo. All the d/c's last night happened with a friend, so I'll try again later.

Bare in mind the server is in Japan.
When you play with Japanese people, one player becomes the host -- you could be playing with a Japanese host with a rubbish upload speed, hardly great for connecting with overseas people, especially when the server acts as a midway point.

Well I've just been playing with friends so far. The one who hosted lives in Hawaii (I'm in UK), so it could be that I guess.
Edit: Why has this been moved? I would have thought a technical issue with PSP2 would go in technical support? I guess it doesn't matter eitherway but it seems odd.

Damn with distance like that its no wonder you have connection issues.

The problem seems to be resolved for now- changed the Channel on my router as it was possibly causing interference.
