JP PC/PS2 - Content update for February 25

Seasonal lobbies
* White Day will be in place from February 25 through March 18.

System updates
* The title system will be introduced with this update. Titles are earned by killing set numbers of monsters, playing for predetermined amounts of time and by meeting other such criteria. Titles can be viewed through your vision phone where you also collect rewards for achieving certain titles. There may even be some items that can be gotten only through this system...
* The daily stamp system will be implemented at the RSD on 3F of Clyez City. By talking to a certain NPC there, you can collect your allotted stamp(s) per day. As stamps are accumulated, you will be able to trade them for items at the Stamp Shop. For free course players, one visit nets you one stamp, while premium course players will get five stamps per visit.
* Service coupons will be added so that when you spend GC, 20% of that amount will be transferred into something known as a service coupon. At a later time, you will be able to trade these for special items in service coupon exchange missions.
* GC Shop (a new exchange mission) will let you purchase new items with GC.
* Lumilass will be expanded with new hair styles.
* A new icon will be added to items which cannot be traded to other players.

New items
* New material(s) will be added. (Considering White Day will be starting, I'm assuming Jaggo Amures will drop something new, just like Rappy Amures.)
* New clothes and parts! The Koltovan Suit and Cheers Set (winning entries from the item design contest) will be added.
* Body Style Ticket will be added to GC Shop. Each ticket will allow you you change your character's body shape.
* WD Box will be on sale for the duration of White Day.
* Casino rotation.

That severely sucks. I only have a Newman and I could end up with a default Beast outfit for all I know lmao! Not fair. It's one thing if you got a random color, but a totally different subject for having a completely different outfit for your draw. Especially one you cannot use. That sounds like a real waste of money.

"Update 2nd" will begin with February 25's maintenance, and continue on with the addition of new features and items over time. March 18 will mark the beginning of "free course," a free-to-play service.

Title system
* The extremely popular title system from the Phantasy Star Portable series will be added. Titles (and in some cases, special reward items) are earned through monster kill counts and total play time.
Daily stamp
* Once a day, you can receive a daily stamp from a special NPC. After collecting a fixed amount of stamps, you will be able to obtain rare items by playing the Stamp Gacha.
Mission acceptance improvements
* Missions previously available only through the mid-point lobbies will now be accessible from the GUARDIANS HQ and each planetary branch's mission counter.
New GUARDIANS Cash services
* Numerous unique items will be made available through random drawing from the GC Gacha. Also, you will earn service coupons by spending GC, which then can be traded for exclusive items. Items such as those which will temporarily boost EXP payout and item drops rates as well as allow for body type changes will be added.

Free course to begin March 18
Free course
* Through this service, you can download the Windows client and start playing the game for free. Enjoy 18 chapters of story mode in solo play, and over 200 missions in multiplayer mode. This course is recommended for beginning players, as there is no restriction on level or how much you can play.
- Allows you to play network mode for free.
- Just as with premium course, there is no restriction on level.
- Play all free missions and most other missions.
- No restriction on how much you can play.
- Use GUARDIANS Cash to purchase other services.
Premium course
* Those who purchase a game key and GUARDIANS License have access to the complete game service, known now as premium course.
- You can use your room and all of the functions it offers... common box storage, PM functions (storage, synthesis, etc.), remodeling, shop keeping, etc.
- All missions are accessible (including those restricted to to free course players).
- Premium course users can exchange items with each other.
- Able to collect Vol Coins and daily stamps.
- Able to utilize GUARDIANS advanced style to further customize capped characters.

Nothing to do with offline, it's just free online mode with restrictions that make even bothering with it pointless. You can't access your room, so you can't store/withdraw items, or make any money with a player shop to buy stuff. Can't trade with anyone either.

It'd be nice if the colored outfits you didn't like were tradeable... but I doubt it.

I'm kinda excited about the update, but I'm not excited about the fact that almost any new content has to be GC. Plus, you can't enjoy the game as much because the best items are GC items lol.

GC items should be more of a novelty.

As for the new clothes, its a shame all the new clothes/parts are GC. Besides that, the last time there was a clothes update was over a year ago with the Illuminus Coat and Guardians formal.... I dont think we'll get any more clothes unless we pay real money for em.

The /R missions have good drops for the level 100 one... but we gotta get our job levels to 20 to stand a chance, and level up techs to get there.

They say that the PSP2 clothes/parts shown are only part of what will be added. I expect we'll see all of the default PSP2 outfits this Thursday. Concerning the winning clothes/parts entries, I have a feeling that only part of them will be added this update. The rest will likely be saved for another update, but they could surprise us!

Honestly, as long as I can get Daiga Biges, I'll be happy. Of course, from what it looks like, the method of obtaining it will be less than savory...

Exactly the reason why I won't play any new Phantasy Star game that comes out in the US and will stick to only playing Original Japan versions.

An Update is an Update and at least they are still working on a four year old game....while US PC version = bye bye soon :(

Wow, the free course actually sounds like a really good idea.... if you are a certain type of player that is. Just think about the players who have all max gear, are capped with GAS, don't need to carry that many weapons with them (like pure techers) and who are only on the game to play with friends. The free course is perfect for players like that since they don't really need the trade and room functions. Yeah it takes a lot to get to that place in the game but a lot of so called "hardcore players" are still playing the game just for the community.

A few additions were made to the update.

* The hair and accessory menu's interface will be changed.
* A sixth list window will be added to your inventory menu. This one will contain boost items which will be added at a later date.

Also, maintenance will begin an hour earlier than normal.

This maintenance is scheduled from 10:00 JST - 18:00 JST, February 25. So that's 01:00 GMT - 09:00 GMT, February 25.

Boost items (temporary EXP and item drop rate boosters) obtained by exchanging service coupons. The exchange mission won't be available with this update, but it should be coming soon.

You know what I just noticed? JP maintenance is during the day correct? And is typically 8 or so hours? But the US maintenance was always overnight, and only was only a couple hours.

Makes you wonder why the JP servers has more content sometimes... XD

The clothes are free. no GC is needed.
cheers set is unlocked by defeating onma 5 times and unlocking the title
caseal cheers set is unlocked by defeating dima 5 times

Take care of that, then check your vision phone and it's given to you. You can do it on any rank or any mission that contains said bosses.

Third floor, the NPC on the left hand side, a clone of the NPC that was previously on the left hand side. As for a list, i'd assume that many of the titles are similar to PSP1 and or 2.

Pretty sure there's nothing to spend those stamps on at the moment. I haven't spent any GC yet, so I don't know about the GC coupons yet.
In a perfect world it would be retroactive, like the titles should have been.

2. there is another item called ホワイトデーキャンディ (howaitode-kyandei), translated something like white day candy....i think u can trade these again in dp (delivery points) to bruce and idk why but japanese spend about 2,5mil on the valentine chocolate

On the right-hand side of the RSD counter, there's another NPC who, if you talk to him now, says to come back later for the mission to exchange stamps. Maybe the next update will include that mission.

Service coupon exchange will be added later. And nothing is retroactive. Only GC spent from this point on will count toward SCs. (Actually, the only retroactive thing is your playtime which can be viewed in the new player record on your vision phone. It also tracks things like distance traveled, number of times you've changed outfits, enemies defeated, Gappo Gappos, login frequency, etc., but those all start counting from today on.)

When can I get DS again? It seems to me that it does not update the same time as casino coins. I got my 5DS last night after the update, around 2000 GMT, and then I try to get it again like I normal do with casino coin (after 0100 GMT). But it won't let me get the daily amount.

Is there an internal clock per account and work on a 24hrs period from the time you collect your last daily DS?

Thing that irks me is that I could have sworn they said body proportion changing was impossible or they didn't want to allow it quite some time ago, but now that you can you have to pay for it. Doesn't really seem like something that would be worth it.
