I don't play online anymore since I cancelled my account but I saw an all purpose Playstation 2 keyboard at EB the other day. If this works with any of the PS2 > GC controller adapters then I think it will solve many peoples problems.
I didn't feel like digging through the Keyboard thread to find out if this has already been discussed or not since I don't post here much anymore.
If it's already been discussed or if it doesn't work, someone feel free to close this thread.

Last I heard, unfortunately, the keyboard part connected to the PS2 via the USB port, thus making it useless for the Gamecube. :/

This is a case of annoying abbreviation confusion. "PS2" keyboards and "PS/2" keyboards are very different.
PS2 means PlayStation 2 keyboards, which are just USB keyboards. Macintosh keyboards are usually USB keyboards also.
PS/2 means "Personal System/2", which is an old IBM 286 computer. PS/2 keyboards are the most common keyboards used on ordinary PC's, with a small circular 5 pin plug.
For Xbox PSO, get a PS2 aka USB aka Mac keyboard. The adaptor that Microsoft is rumored to give out will work with any USB keyboard, even Mac and Playstation 2 keyboards. You can also buy an adaptor from Lik-Sang, or make your own. I made my own.
For GC PSO with an adaptor, get a PS/2 aka PC keyboard.
Even better, get a keyboard that has both PS/2 and USB plugs. Works on both GC and Xbox that way.

Yeah, it should be posted in the keyboard info thread (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=33054&forum=1&294). If it's already there, then we'll just hit two birds with one stone...or something with one stone. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif
