After getting a rush of excitement again lately over c mode finally being up, a US c ship, having all my guys in Ultimate mode, as well as having my friends in there( i.e. They can find me a damn Red handgun finally.)... life decides I've been playing too much.
It started Tuesday(?) night. I was using a cheap ISP, and it decides to die. Apparently (like PSO) the automatic monthly charge didnt go through, meaning no internet for me. This is partly my fault, since i stopped watching my hotmail inbox for a couple days, then ignored it while deleting junk mail. I tried to get fix my account online (like they suggested) but it's the most non-legit ISP website I have ever seen, so naturally I can't find anything to help. I decide to call their phone number the next day, and as soon as I log off it died.
That sucked ass, but it was mostly my fault, so no big deal. I got bored and while going through my back up disks (AOL, Earthlink, netzero, etc.) remembered I signed up for free service with MSN 6 months ago specifically as a backup. Now I have MSN's krap all over my HD, but I'm FINALLY online...now..to go to PSO for a little bit...
I spent about 5 hours (more or less straight) trying to reconfigure my modem to go online, but it wont. It takes me a while alone to figure out the inane "MSN/your name here" system, but even then and several variations of my id refuse to work. (all of this on the god awful Dreamkey browser.) Before going to bed, I thought about adding another user id to my account. Sure enough, it works on logs onto PSO the first time.
I play for about a day in peace, and happiness.
Then "HUNTERS LISCENSE EXPIRES. PLEASE RENEW NEWLY". ....Ok. It's been auto renewing fine (except for once a month ago with Cajun's account) since I started playing. Weird. I wait an hour, and same thing. I wait more, and then check my account. Account is pending, but i dont see any charges anywhere (on my online CC bill too.) I cant see whats wrong, so I give it a day to sort out.
That's today. I edit, recheck my account serveral times, both online and with my GC. I go to several sites, wade through gigs of krap (Sega help forums....jesus, man. I thought Gamefqas was bad.) to find few references to my problem, and useless answers. I've done just about everything I can online to fix it. Only thing left is to call Sega hotline (its almost 5 in the morning here, doubt they're up...), but I was kicked off PSO ver.2 and when I called then, they were more useless than Gamefaqs.
I even cancelled the account to see if I can renew it, and it doesnt even register any change. Now I just plain think its broken, or some one/thing REALLY doesnt want me playing PSO ever again.
I dont know what else to do. Part of me says this isnt worth it, for a game. Im seriously considering sending my disk and/or my cards to Cajun, so he can harvest anything usefull on my chars. Or better yet, sending the whole shebang to some friends (yep, bought a keyboard too. What a god-damn paperweight that is right now.) that could use it and have fun, cuase I know I sure cant.
At least if my chars. got corrupted, I can start over. This is just stupid, and right at this second feels like way too much trouble. Maybe ill auction this crap off, buy a new copy. Maybe I'll try to be on XBL for that version.
I want to play PSO, I really do. But, it doesnt want to let me...
P.s. Sorry about the lack of cuss words and exclamations marks,but I'm trying a different writing style. Next time it happens, rest assured "FUKK U SEGA!11!" will be incorporated.
