Steam is so versatile. You can use it for games or robots built by mad scientists and, most importantly to rage in, around, and against machines. Even the waste product of steam, hot water, is handy for making tea.
In other words, steam is like the ultimate tool MacGuyver only wishes he had ('cause then he wouldn't have to mess around with rubber bands and AmEx cards and whatnot).

Also, the title of this thread is giving me serious deja vu (http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=164752&highlight=steampunk)--not to be confused with the vapors, though that's also relevant.

P.S. OMG WHAT IS WRONG WITH ABRAHAM LINCOLN'S BEARD

Steamed punks
Steamed porks
Steamed hams

Not quite steamed yams, yet.

Palle

I had steamed yams for dinner the other night, along with sauteed asparagus and rice pilaf. Carrot cake for desert, with the cream cheese icing, oh yeah.

I don't think I've ever seen a real yam in any grocery store here (and I'm not sure why so many sweet potato products are labeled as yams... with "sweet potato" in tiny type). All your sweet potato needs are covered, but there's nary a yam to be found. Crisis! Yam mayday!

[spoiler-box]inb4 someone comes along to helpfully point out the etymology of "abs"[/spoiler-box]

P.S. Y'all don't know how bummed I am that I didn't come up with the phrase "steam crunk". Damn you, google, crushing my hopes and dreams and delusions of originality.

DDiizzy that one time Cave Beats : Forest Krunk but it was just the name of the song, this guy wasn't a Krunk artist.

So I know this other song called Animal Forest, something 2 people in here might like on name alone.

H.P. Papercraft... sounds a bit like...

World of Lovecraft: Make Love, Not War!
Where love = insanity-inducing non-euclidean space.

...better yet, Hewlett-Packard should jump on that trademark for some kind of specialized printer.

I got it the other week. It's pretty good. Kinda like Kiki's Delivery Service, as it has only a bit of conflict.

I know it's not the best movie Miyazaki's done, but Princess Mononoke is probably still my personal favorite.

I also absolutely love Kiki's Delivery Service (specifically because of the lack of major conflict) and Howl's Moving Castle (due to the adventurous nature of it).

I just feel regular love for the rest of Ghibli/Miyazaki films.

Spirited Away is probably my favorite. Howl's Moving Castle is way up there though. I was kind of shocked watching the credits roll and seeing Christian Bale's name. :-o
