So I've recently started on the JP servers, and I have made two charcters. Ones a Masterforce (which is obvious...Newman haha) and I've played MF on US PC/PS2 so I know the deal there.

And I always loved GT too, but its suddenly a whole gray area because I dunno what weapons to use! It was easy before, pretty much anything GM or FG would use along with your xbows, buffs and heals.

But with all the nifty upgrades GT got, the gameplay is different. So my questions are... What weapons and PAs are worth it? What races work?

1. What race?
My current GT is a Beast, I always loved Beasts for GT but would Human be better with all the customizations available to them? I've also seen some Newman GTs on the JP server actually... Are attack techs more useful with being able to get them to 31+ along with the newer RCSMs?

2. Longbows or Rifles?
I actually always preferred Bows, for aesthetics, but Rifles were obviously better. But since Bows were buffed so much (more attack power, SE5, and same firing rate as rifles) I don't know which to lean on to more. I know knockdown is useful for rifles, but the bow has more attack power and GT gets it at S-rank. Or should I use both? If I use both, do I need ALL bullets? Are the Frag Rifle bullets a good replacement for the elemental ones (I really dont want to level up 6 bullets that act similar to bows...lol).

3. Are Twin Handguns worth it?
I never used them as GT. Maybe Pre-AOI, but afterwards I just used Crossbows instead. I used Bows/Rifles for range. And I really don't see much reason for them..... But maybe someone can enlighten me. I never had room for them though. My current palette is:

Bow
X-bow / Wand
Machinegun / Wand
RCSM / Wand
Double Saber (tornado dance)
TCSM / Wand (buffs)

Sooo ya. I'd appreciate any kinda advice! :)

1. CAST or Human.

2. You could try using both. Maybe learn all elemental Longbow PA's and learn only Burning Shot and Killer Shot for your Rifle? Longbow for damage and Rifle for knockdown plus chance for burn at the same time. I'm not sure if in the end Longbow does more DPS than Rifle in Guntecher's situation, but if it doesn't, then stick with Rifle.

3. Twin Handguns put forth more DPS than Bows and Rifles. Perfect example of when to use Twin Handguns over Longbow/Rifle is shooting De Rol Le/Dark Falz 1 when it is close to the raft.

Hope this helps.

I would use rifles, just because of how useful the knockdown is.

Honestly though, I think GT is a waste. Gunner / techer hybrid seems like too much overlap that you're really just better off sticking to one or the other.

You probably haven't played on JP... Guntecher is hot sauce there.

Machine guns are PWN at 41+, and GT is its the best user of them (yes beating out FI and FG). The new S-rank Machineguns outdamage the A-rank ones by a LOT, and GT has a higher bullet level than FI.

The new S-rank Crossbow also do a lot of damage, and its a GT exclusive.

Along with new A-rank Rifles, some of the S-rank ones pale in comparison.

And GT is the only gunner that can use tornado dance, so they can speed through levels.

I know GT is not better than GM most of the time, but its pretty good. In some cases its better.

in some cases, yes versatility is better. the addition of A rank double sabers is a nice addition as well. on my GT, i use a newearl.

With GAS i raised mechguns, xbows and longbows to lv44, single dagger to 12 so far, and i'm not disappointed with the results. there are many options available to you as a GT. raising your elemental techs to 3X is good as well, if you decide to bring along techs since they take up a different customization slot than the bullets. I have the option of raising all tech types except light, which only includes regrants, to lv36. I raised my rifle bullets to 42 for the lv5 SEs, which is a nice addition, but longbows are wonderful at 41+

41+ bows get 50% element and lv5 SEs. 2k+ damage a shot is wonderful! the firing rate slows down though, initially it's faster then it slows down. Just like GM and rifles. I'd say around lv21 it gets slower.

Mechs are a wonderful alternative to twins. in fact, i dont even use them on GT. S rank mechguns such as magana revolta and Yas 9k can outdo twins on a GT. not to mention, you can have a wand with it. as a newearl GT, i do 1000+ a SHOT with lv44 bullets, just imagine what it would be like on a beast :p

Just my 2 cents based on my experience as a newearl GT :3

Preach it vec lol i also have a neuman female GT on the US servers (Xbox) and on JP i have a cast. once better bows come out there fantastic and the supp. update helps too and cross bows are bad ass on jp because of the recent update where elemental ones have a higher hiting rate now whoooooo!! and the GC weps will make GT fun as well as VEC noted lol hope this helps.

1. What race?
Human - shitload of weapon and base stat customisations, which are crucial to hybrid classes.
Newman - You get more bang out of your techs.
Beast - Nanobrast!
Cast - SUV!

2. Longbows or Rifles?
Same firing rate as rifles?
Anyway, you'll need to lvl up elemental bullets if you wanna do the MOST damage, cause Chouseisou is sloooow.
If you're worried about not being able to down you could always use Maseisou.
Get a Poron Poron and you're set.

3. Are Twin Handguns worth it?
Machinegun/Crossbow and Longbow are enough, unless you play human with spare AP.

Machine guns are PWN at 41+, and GT is its the best user of them (yes beating out FI and FG). The new S-rank Machineguns outdamage the A-rank ones by a LOT, and GT has a higher bullet level than FI.
Lies, the difference between L&K14(10) and 9000(10) is a mere 83 ATP, but the difference between FG(20) and GT(20) on a lvl 180 caseal is 435 ATP...
Plus, FG has reduced PP usage.

Along with new A-rank Rifles, some of the S-rank ones pale in comparison.
And by 'some', you mean the ones below Rattlesnake right? Cause all other S ranks save for Promote and Frozen grind higher than Holy Ray's 763.
