This is actually awesome news.

All we have to do is wait and see how and if all of the features get implemented in other ways (like accumulating AP, or whatever)

Personally, I think this is WAY better than people paying money to obtain god-like weapons.

Either way, I'm not going to complain about a thing until we wait and see how it's done. I'm just happy it's not going the same course as Japan. :beer:

Also, if no one read yet--there will not be a community course on the 360 servers. I think this also made sense, considering the 360's population is smaller and while you could potentially gain new players, the same percentage would just be satisfied with community course and not pay--likely shortening the life of the servers.

having read through the thread linked. i am slightly releaved i wont be selling my kidneys to get cool gear (motav, sould banish etc). but my point still stands

the only feasable way we can get the drops is by adding them to existing maps...... which means a MAJOR adjustment to both current and coming missions.

the idea of the weapon machine being GAS based is a great one and an idea that me and some friends were throwing around when GC was launched in JP.

GRRR on the GC low level mission though, i had a human all set up to get me some shags too :( ah well guess i can go ahead and level the bihatch now

Im both sad and excited!

One on hand I loved the idea of the payed for missions, with the super high drops and exclusivities and such even if it did cost money. And now we probably wont get those missions, or maybe we still will just without boosts :D

but on the other hand, I don't have to spend my real money to get all the clothes i've wanted! LOL i was going to spend tons of cash to get as many clothes as i could LOL XD Now I can be sure i can get these items through in-game cash or from hunting other than "Will I have enough extra money to spend on this?" lol ^.^

very excited to see this and now it makes the JP version and the US version very different games O.o

(I just hope the items in the 3rd floor shop don't all take months to get since we'll only be getting 5 tickets a day D:)

Max is right on this one. GC would have killed almost all weapons. Now that we wont see it i can see alot of items jumping up in value.

Yes I said 99% so it would be 1% chance that we would have not gotten it. Also the only reason I said that was because I and many others have noticed how greedy Sega is getting over the past years. I am very happy we did not get this and I also agree no little kids will be rubbing there 40% 10^ weps in my face lol

Well...they have of two flavors:

a) Add GC drops on GAM/Free missions with ridiculous low drop rates (and I mean LOW); doing rotation of items once in a while.
OR
b) No adding a thing, lol

Anyways...that's good news for 360 people, but kind of suck for those ones who would liked to use the upgrading service D:

the whiners were only the people who play the game to have a shop and make stacks to buy pre ground 50% gear, the true players of the game (as in hunters and hoarders) like myself would have wanted the added weapons that dont require you have to play in random runs with the risk of being booted before the boss (usually by the aforementioned shoppers) and see no items.

but yeah i'll just see how the S update flows, if it looks like more of the same crap, with boss box loading and no real 'update' then yeah PSU will be shut down.... people wont pay anymore for sub standard updates........ hell even sega may not be bothered to actually code the data for us and just shut us down.

it just sounds like 50% of the people on these forums really want to waist their money. Here's some good news to you guys, if you want to buy GC then go on the JP servers or stop complaining. Really just think about it, you don't think sega is making enough money off of the 360 PSU. over 120 thousand players have signed up and atleast 80 thousand still have a running acount rather they know it or not. They make a decent amount and realized that the existing players that actualy like to hunt and earn items/weapons would rather it be this way and will expand the playability of the game so those that are actualy smart enough to cancel their acounts won't quit.

but with the exclusion of GC and ALL of its uses we are being denied a large portion of the game, lagacy of light for one with its rotational drops which are account bound was really brining hope to me, since the only weapons out there would be locked they wouldnt be mass farmed and ground up sold for xxxx gold bars.

now with the GC weapons becoming possible regular drops chances are they will not be account bound and the damn numpties that spend hours spamming WB for the easy money will be the ones with the good gear as bloody usual.

Maybe they could just implement some of the GC items and such into the AMP shop, or something like that. Perhaps put the new clothing in the R&D Trading Station? My friends and I even thought of the idea of making a new point system, kind of like an in-game achievement system (but different than the "titles" you can obtain), that have to do with killing certain types of enemies, using certain types of weapons, or just running a certain amount of missions.

I don't know, those are just ideas. Anyway, I hope they don't put anything too good in the casino (if that's what they plan to do, at all), considering that it's borderline impossible to win anything there.

I'm confused. They said they aren't going to charge for the GC related materials but they didn't say they weren't going to bring out Legacy of Light and such. Maybe they'll make legacy of light a rare mission just like the other rare missions, or charge hella meseta or casino coins to purchase a ticket to run the mission. Or maybe even charge AMP or AP for the mission. Idk I think the only thing Ed and them were saying is that they aren't going to charge cash for the extra stuff.

I may just come back to PSU if they truely decide to scrap the whole GC idea. Also, we already paid for GC over and over with the countless months of no updates. My guess is we will still pay for this stuff. It will be of course in an mini-expansion pack for the game much like AOTI was, maybe like 20 bucks for all the new content like a couple months after the supp update. Anyways good news.

Ok so I see alot of people sad and happy that this update is gone my views on this whole GC thing:

Sega, giving the fact that I been playing this game for so long I don't really feel GC was needed in the first place. I run and run to find a board, make with the chance of failure, and grind with the chances of breaking. And have been Doing this since almost nearly the game first came out. The game is about you make or break your hard earn time which is what an MMO is suppose to do in the first place. I feel alot of high value stuff would have dropped to an all time low, but do I take this GC personal? Not in anyway shape or form.

It's just a game if GC was there it would have help sega keep this game atlease up with something and like some one said before "we waited a year for half the updates japan has got" that's just sega being dumb. As much as I didn't like the GC idea, I wanted PSU to change. To have an evolaution that other MMOs have and changed over the years. PSU has almost not changed at all.

As I said before PSU is just a game, a game that some of us enjoy with our free time. I just wanted some solid updates CG or not. and we haven't been getting that. Not to mention the promises that was made when this game was first coming out. I have no idea how the game will insert these new ideas but how ever they do it, I just hope it's not the same "Spam run > find new grinder item in boss box > grind to 8 and break > do it all again" type of thing. PSU (unlike PSO) needs Evolution. Cause right now all I see is another server shut down without any "real" updates.

I am pretty sure they could just add the weapons to the Arms Dealer and the Clothes to the Clothes trade in seems simple enough to me... Also, maybe if hey added Photon Crystals to rare missions and you use those to trade in it would work.

Here's the thing I don't understand. All these people are complaining and saying ST is a failure but you still play. GET A DIFFERENT GAME DUDE! You have no idea how ignorant you make yourself sound when you say "GC would have been good." You know for a fact that it would have torn PSU to it's end. You say ST is greedy yet they are making it so we DON'T HAVE TO PAY EXTRA!!! On top of that you say they are going to short us out when they said "we will have all GC items" but obviously you need to just find another game because us who actualy have a life and/or know how life is are going to wait and see what happens. We don't jump out acusing ST of anything but we look at the possabilitys and have atleast an intermediate amount of trust in ST. Although we have been left behind the JP servers this GC thing will completely change the game and possibly catch us up in updates making the 360 version domanant. i am almost gaurenteed that we will get players from JP (like we have had some return to 360) because now they will see a different game and not a money collecting program.8-)

I'm almost certain that, that will never happen. The funny thing about all these GC hatters is most of them are on the JP PSU and have in fact spent real money on GC weapons. So the fact that there is a chance we will get it for free is really pissing them off. I love that :)
