What ever happened to the Nintendo items in the US version???

Hello, I have not been here in a long while and dont know if this has been addressed all ready, But can anyone please tell me what the deal is with the codes for the extra item in the US version of Zero?? like the Metroid cannon or warp hole??

Technically you can get the item, but they'll revert to a basic handgun/bazooka/whatever while retaining the stats.

I'd heard something about legal issues, but that makes no sense to me. US has Metroid games, so why not the Metroid cannon? Same goes for the Hyrule shield and others.

Because licensing and legality in America is a whole lot different than it is in Japan.
