Many of you may think different parts are harder than others so put what you think is the hardest.

I think it is the Caves you gotta go through them not losing your doll and then fight re dol le ouch!

Stage 2, imo, has always been the most difficult stage simply because the characters have low power, low ATA, and weak equipment. It's frustrating to take even a decent ATA HUmar and go at a Gil Shark with an LLH Saber combo just to miss ALL THREE attacks and get plastered by a critical hit. Throw in the horrid Sword combos (hunters start with Swords on c3 and c4) on top of the low ATA scores and it's pain around the corner. However all stages become a cakewalk if just one player finds a weapon with decent % (particularly hit).

Vulpes: could you elaborate on your fondness for hit% in EP 1&2?

i guess i can understand it with mechguns (due to the lack of hit mats and the low ATA on mechs), even though im not sure i agree that a good hit% beats a good set of creature type%, but why hit% on melee weapons?!

if i was in C2 i think i'd rather find a buster with 90% Abeast then 90% hit. is this flawed thinking?

whats the deal?!:)

from my dreamcast-times:

there was a time where i absolutely hated c2, because i could not go past it... then... (i should add) with the right team... i somehow managed and now i tend to say c2 is kinda easy...
but c4 (with de rol le) is not that much harder than c2 - i mean, you begin stronger, you die less often and with a well balanced full team its easily done.

then again... c6... done it only twice now (4team, 2team) so far so i cannot really say...
so my vote goes to mines

If you want the truth, it's not the areas that bother me at all... I could do the painfully long, horrid C2, 800 times, and not be bothered by it... It's not areas, that are the difficult thing about challenge mode. It's finding a good team, that's willing to do their part, and stay in Sync with all the other players. That is the most difficult thing, about c-mode.

Here's a good example... When I took my HUcaseal through c9 I found an Assault with 70 dark and 90 hit. Now you consider that the Assault was adding about 25 ATP (rough guesstimate). Add 70% for the area to that and you'll wind up with approximately 43 ATP. That's barely any extra damage. But you consider that a 0 hit Assault I would have probably missed 50% of the attacks. With a 90 bonus to hit I not only didn't miss, I was able to use an HHH combo, doing overall a LOT more damage.

Take that same scenario into consideration for, say, a Brand in c4. If you have a high area % you'll do more damage per hit, but you'll also miss infrequently. When you miss, you tend to get pummelled. When you get pummelled, it slows you down because you usually spend five seconds on the floor. Now if that weapon had a high hit bonus you could swing an HHH without missing. You'll rarely get hit and fall down, do hefty damage, and almost every enemy dies in one combo, regardless of the area %.

My big issue with area % in E1&2 is that they're worth far less than they were in ver.1 and 2. They effect only the weapon power, not the combined ATP. All the weapons in C-mode are pretty weak, so unless you have a really high percent (practically doubling the weapon's ATP bonus), it's not as important as the hit bonus. I'd much rather have the accuracy to actually hit than the power and miss.

The hardest part is dealing with idiotic teammates. (No joke) I've plenty of stories there...

Stage wise, I never liked C7/8 much, mainly because you're really hurting for a good weapon. The other stages you can pretty much go from start to fin with the weapon they give you at the start. Gigush with 0% doesn't do you much good.

yeah ok, i get it!:D thanks Vulpes. i was thinking about that while playing C mode last night.

i didnt quite realize that was the issue with mechs in EP 1&2 as compaired to V1/2. thats kinda crappy.

i still like my LK14 combats with decent area% though! i rarely miss with god/arm on:) and the power is decent.



and yes a good Team can make or break a challenge run. thats whats so rewarding about it!

I hate C6 more than any other challenge level out there... if you can't find Resta... there'll be hell.

Finding a team is the hardest part for me (On JP V1.0 there is a max of like 10 people playing at one time)

C6 is defainatly the hardest/most frustrating stage.

My two most hated stages are c2 and c7 they both just make me so mad

c2 and c3 has got to be the worst one for me. i cant stand missing alot and not being able to kill 'things' in 1 combo and also those stupid nano dragons arnt helping >_<. c5 & 6 are my favorite because i like challenging those sinows to come up to me to a 1on1 fight and then taking them out in 1-2 combos :b c5 is just too much fun for me.

in c6 i like how near the end there are small rooms where sinows and garanzses some times both apear in the same wave and every body freaks out ! lol i have so much fun trying to kill them off

The hard part of C-Mode is trying to get the missiles from a Garanz off of you and onto a teammate so it hits them and not you. Wheeeeeee.
