What are battle stats for your pm used for besides ex devices?

as far as I know does a higher BST means more fighting skills for your pm and he becomes more useful^^

Never heard of that... I think it only matters for EX devices.

I have also heard that higher battle stats should make your PM "smarter", but I do not know if this is a rumor or fact.
It would be really nice if it was a fact, as raising the battle stats of a PM would benefit more then just raising it only for PM devices.

it was old rumor built up before any PM device released
People had no idea what did battle status do, so they assumed it to be AI change.

PM fighting AI are setted by Pm device, which mean no change
