I think I just killed a bunch of... Chao?

Wierdest thing just happened to me. I'm clearing the mission on the way to the Voloyal Casino, and suddenly, I start getting attacked by Chao from the Sonic Adventure games.

I didn't want to, but since they were attacking and whatnot, I had to kill em. I got a couple of Jaggo Delma's from them in the process. So, what's the deal with the Chao suddenly showing up? And are those Jagga Delma's good for anything?

Rare enemy. Get a certain combination of enemy patterns in most missions and you'll encounter a rare spawn.

Jaggos and Rappies are also switched out for seasonal ones during certain times of the year (White Day, Valentines' Day, Sonic's Birthday, Halloween, Summer, and Christmas), to which you can get rare and special drops.

There are also rare enemies PSUPedia doesn't list, like Orgdus (recolor of Svaltus), Jigo Boomas (purple mohawk'd recolors of Boomas), Bil De Melon, among others. They also have special drops too.

i was hoping to get a rare map with them while we were playing last night, but we didnt get em :) just those real rappies that u couldnt get in on :(.

when its soniti time in a week or two i'll try and get you in on a few jaggo hunts up at de rol le or duel in the ruins. see if we cant get you some seasonal gear :)

coming from PSO you know jigo boomas, they drop cool gear but its like rocking horse shit, bil de melan is kind of like heldetorr (u saw my fists), you will end up seeing the svaltus rares orgdus and lutus jigga when you get up and explore a bit more.

Anyway, if you want to hunt for rare enemies like Jaggos then all you have to do is pay attention to the level layout and follow the enemy spawn chart (http://psupedia.info/Awoken_Serpent#Enemy_spawn_chart) for the appropriate mission. There are three map variants for each mission, and each variant has four different spawn patterns. Most of the time you can identify a non-rare-spawn pattern by the first or second mob.

If it's not a rare spawn, feel free to abandon the mission and try again. Lather, rinse, repeat!

Hmm, not sure I *totally* grasp how the rare spawns work, but I think I get the idea. Anyways, very cool :D

Also, darthplagis, thanks a ton for helping me getting started and whatnot. I know it's gotta be inconvenient for ya, so much appreciated! I'm lookin forward to seeing these "holiday" critters; hopefully we find a rare spawn during the "Sonic Birthday" thing :D

hehe, no inconvinience really. i would just have been hitting hive for a repca board.

ill show you the rare spawns if you want, its pretty much if x monster shows up on x map then you 'should' get x monster in a specific point. a good chunk of the maps are 50/50 if you have the rare though
