how can you tell when fsod is about to strike? because it hit all of my friends and i just wanted to be very catious when playing online,im very worried so if anyone can spread the knowledge it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

to tell the truth...it will hit you when you arent expecting it. But just dont worry about it, and who knows maybe youll get lucky.

I FSODed in Mines 2 VHard on Altair block 01. There was no warning as I was playing by myself. The game just froze in the middle of the level. I play it safe and do not carry extra items on me. I always keep stuff equipped on my character. That is saved it is items that are unequip that are dropped. There are some threads on this problem and how to help save your items in this instance. Please look through the boards. You might learn some tricks.
