Okay. All the real girls on PSU that I've heard on the mic have been insincere, intolerable, and whiny. They manipulate people for items, they cause a lot of momma drama, etc.

Or, there's so many girls out there who don't talk on the mic because there's quite a few guys out there who can't contain themselves, and have to spew crude jokes every 2 seconds. (Not all, but a good majority. Kudos to guys that have realized being themselves is the only way to get respect).

So. I KNOW I'm not the only girl on this game with dignity, who doesn't try to scam items off people, who make men do all the work for me, etc. So, where the heck are you? I know there are awesome, cool chicks on this game.

I know PSU has a pretty decently sized female population.

I've honestly been dying to find a cool group of chicks on this game to talk to. Or at least some sane ones. And, yes, I am a girl. But, hey, I don't think I'm a unicorn on PSU. I know there's some cool chicks on this game.

She seems to get the same, pervs asking her to moan on the mic or send pictures etc etc. It's annoying how online games seem to allow the congregation of socially backwards people who have no respect for women. Not saying everyone whose a bit socially backwards is a sex pest. heck i'm anti-social the amount of gaming I do but I don't feel compelled to pester women and acting like a sex pest.

This is completely true, sadly. Any kind of virtual, anonymous medium that can be used for social interaction is most times filled to the brim with absolutely, 100% fake people. They take the opportunity of not being known by anyone else to sort of act out these "fantasies" of being "cool" or a "tough guy", when in real life, they've never said a nasty thing to anyone, let alone been in a real fight.

That gets me back on the original subject that Moonie addressed. All the socially awkward guys that couldn't even say "hello" to a girl face to face (I'll admit, I'm one of those guys, but I don't do the following-) try and "make up" for it on the anonymous medium that is the internet by being complete pigs and trying to "impress" either the female in question*, or their just-as-stupid friends**.

Relating all this information back to Moonie's question: ^That's probably the reason there aren't a lot of cool female PSU players. They'd rather not have to deal with all the BS.

I won't ever understand why people try to change who they are over online video games/chat rooms/comment boards. It baffles me, but I digress.

In my experience, there's usually a lot of good, friendly, reliable female players out there (well, I haven't played PSU in awhile..maybe the community's changed), but they usually just disguise the fact they're female. i.e., not playing a female character, or just not using a mic, etc. etc. I think it's sad that this has to happen, but the tough truth is that online video games (hell, video games in general) are usually dominated by very socially poor males who can't seem to behave like anything other than morons. As has been said here, the anonymity of the game and the internet in general brings out that BS in a lot of people.
The majority of my characters since I started playing PSO way back when have used female avatars just because it's more interesting and different to me (so many games don't give you the choice) and I think that in a weird way I've experienced a lot of the sexism and B.S. by proxy, just from that and it certainly gives me a new appreciation for what girls gotta put up with sometimes out there.
Makes me feel embarrassed frankly.

Well, I'm not gonna lie. The first time I played the game (before I quit then came back XD) I acted a lot different than I usually do. But over time, as I stop taking people's crap, I'm more myself on the game. I don't let crude people stop me from talking on the mic, but let me tell you... I have a six pages of blacklistings. But the whole, perving out on PSU is kind of pointless. I met my boyfriend (who I live with in real life) on PSU, but the reason I liked him from the very beginning was because even though he knew I was a girl he didn't spaz out and he treated me like anyone else. I mean, any girl likes compliments.... but some of the things these people say when they hear that I'm a girl... ugh.

But overall, I'm just trying to meet some other girls on the xbox who aren't bumbling idiots... I miss talking to other girls, and it'd be really cool to meet some on PSU. Which is why I'm kind of putting myself out here keeping my fingers crossed. (Which is why if anyone needs my gamertag they should private message me... I introduced this game to my girlfriend yesterday. She's been playing on my 360 (we live together) and has so far enjoyed it. I haven't been keeping that close an eye on her since I showed her the ropes and taught her the basics, but don't think she's encountered any lechererous or nefarious come-ons just yet. I know they are bound to happen, but so far it has just been the run-of-the-mill jerks that boot before boss boxes or rare spawns.

Okay all jokes aside, before i canceled my 360 subscription, I think i've maybe encountered 5 female players with mics. 2 of them were douchebags. (which is really funny you know, i dont meet too many douchebags online. Pretty ironic.) I played a force though, so 70% of my gameplay time was solo. (seeing as forces are only useful if you spend hours leveling their shitty technics ya kno)

Seriously, they're male players with higher octaves. People who date over the internet astonish me, but i guess it isn't that crazy. Works for some people, right? I usually end up maining a female character anyway, and as such assume all female avatars are males. If someone is cool enough to get a partner card -- talk outside PSU, then i'll find out if they're a girl or boy.

I played the demo, and i have to say, its pretty *ing funny. Having a female character on there after switching from PC/PS2 is one of the funniest experiences on an MMO next to mass-PKing.

Internet lets people say things without the danger of getting hit and the liberty of having no consequences. Even i'm guilty of it. Calling someone a Faggot to their face is almost instantly going to result in a fight, and its about a 70% chance of it being physical, which is about as high a chance as if you ran down a street kicking random people in their shins and laughing at them...but it frequently happens on Youtube. People spit racial slurs and everything. I remember playing an MMO when i was in Middle School and having people tell me they were gonna rip my parents guts out while i watched tied to a chair. Of course it only made me laugh even harder....but yeah. The chance of that kid actually having the balls/ability/intelligence/willpower to do anything like that is extraordinarily low. And the consequences of someone saying that in real life almost start at a minimum of severe the older you get, because regular people (and even most irregular people) would never say such a thing.


I think its far less to do with a lack of respect for women than people just being able to do what they want without any consequences. They can ask a girl to flash them on a webcam over the internet guilt-free, but in real life you have the fear of (obvious) rejection and embarrassment of everyone else watching. And then, of course, your own insecurities, if you're the cliche fatass pimple ridden introverted geek.

That's how me and my boy are. We met on PSU, talked for a few months... then we realized we were in the same state. I took a bus up there (probably not a good idea, but I'm not dead), and then we went back and forth a few times, then I moved in with him and his roommates. Now we're in a rental house together, and if he asked me to marry him, I'd say yes. So, it's not all completely a load of bull, but relationships for the sake of loneliness online IS not worth it. And yea, we play xbox all the time in seperate rooms... the little nerds we are. ^^

But now that I'm on PSU, guys who are out there only to perv on me annoy me... and I block them. And finally, I figure if I could hang out with some girls that would limit some of the stupidity.

im a guy. was using a female char in psobb. i traded with some guy while pretending to be a girl in hopes of exploiting the trade in my favor some. after the trade he still seemed pretty desperate and lonely so i let him have my AIM. it got weirder and weirder and i eventually realized I wasn't going to get anything from him so then I had a stalker for a few days. Blocked him and ignored him but I saw him all the time in trade rooms and eventually stopped running from him and just pretended like it never happened.

Just mute them. <3 The sad part is that I've ran into grown men that flip their lids when I talk on the mic. Personally, I don't hid my gender as I see no point. I love using the mic to talk. =/ I have a fair share of women/girls on my friend list as well as partner card list, that are respectable. I've run into the... Okay. All the real girls on PSU that I've heard on the mic have been insincere, intolerable, and whiny. They manipulate people for items, they cause a lot of momma drama, etc.

Or, there's so many girls out there who don't talk on the mic because there's quite a few guys out there who can't contain themselves, and have to spew crude jokes every 2 seconds. (Not all, but a good majority. Kudos to guys that have realized being themselves is the only way to get respect).

So. I KNOW I'm not the only girl on this game with dignity, who doesn't try to scam items off people, who make men do all the work for me, etc. So, where the heck are you? I know there are awesome, cool chicks on this game.

I know PSU has a pretty decently sized female population.

I've honestly been dying to find a cool group of chicks on this game to talk to. Or at least some sane ones. And, yes, I am a girl. But, hey, I don't think I'm a unicorn on PSU. I know there's some cool chicks on this game.

I'm a chick, I'm usually playing in whatever universe I spawn in / a random uni with friends. Most of my friends are pretty cool and won't try to jump your pixels upon hearing your voice / discovering that you're female.

I wouldn't hold it against any girl who doesn't like talking on mic. I talk, but barely ever, or alot. I prefer to text. >.>

Anyway, I tended to simply not mention it. If people asked, I let them think whatever the hell they wanted to think. The only games my gender really became an issue was in the Rainbow Six Vegas series, which I suppose I should have seen coming. The community tended to be older than the average Halo player.

I swear, I remember the team I was playing with drop what they're doing and become the Spanish Inquisition when they realized that a woman was playing their first person shooter.

HEY.....i am a female as well....and i feel u these boys, must say that much it be mostly young teenage boys drive me crazy!!the immaturity level be rediculous!! i solo or play with my son father..i stopped play'n in parties 4 the most part and bearly use my mic(not that that always helps,the lil b*****ds no how 2 type lol....and what kill me is they think we like the harrasment,i think they really believe thats the way 2 befriend a member of the oppositesex...my 3rd character name is ROBO*B/TCH,ppl always ask me y i named it that...i usually dont respond unless its an innocsent question(most times its not its a set up line 4 the next corny punchline)well the truth is all the imature d bags inspired it....just so they no i wont take no ish and i will rip em a new one...ITS WORKED WELL 4 ME SO FAR..LOL...i have a 3yr old son i take care a all day,so i play psu 2 chill and keep my mind occupide NOT 2 be botherd with stupidity...but in fairness(im not try'n 2 guy bash)there are some ok guys aswell(not many:-))but if u ever wanna run or sumthing just let me no...msg me im always on

I used to be the real conversationalist in parties. Then after meeting too many players who had asses for mouths, I keep mic silent in parties now. If they're gonna boot me for being quiet, I just leave OR, and this always makes me laugh, I put my brother on the mic and have him pretend to be me with his voice.
