That depends on your phone. In my case I can connect my phone via USB and transfer whatever the hell I want using that.

I have no idea how the Ringtone industry still scams people out of $3 a song to be put on the phones when they're $.99 on comparable stores to buy the whole song and do whatever you want with it-(besides try to profit from/copyrights etc).

$2 profit off simply having the industry continue keeping everyone in the dark or confused about putting ringtones on their phones.
