after a week of working with sega/nintendo and insighbb, i'm finily on-line... kind of. I get disconnected often, but as i read more, this seems like a common problem, so i have a few questions..

1) Is this a common problem? My first day on line i could stay on no longer than 5 mins at a time. The next day i played for like almost 2 hours, got droped, then got back on for like 15 mins, then droped, the got on for like 30 mins, droped, ect. Is this normal and something i have to live with, or can i do something on my end?

2) how in the world do you down load quests to play off line? I can't figure it out. I go to the hunters guild but can't find any option of downloading a quest at all... do i have to beat it online first to open it for download? Or are only special quests downloadable, and none are avalible right now?

3) What does FSOD stand for? I've gatherd what it means, some kind of major data loss, but what is FSOD short for, and how excatly does it work, so i can watchout for it?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know...I'm trying to solve my own BBA issues. However, FSOD means Freezed Screen of Death. Some people think this is the worst PSO phenomina but eh, nope. FSOD is just a server 'misshap' and anything not equipped during FSOD, you will lose. SO here's a quick tip, take ONE 'good' weapon with you at all times.

If you find any photon drops, put them in the bank immediatly, as well as any armor, shields that you have not met the lv req. for yet. Some with any weapons and techs.

Do you have a PPPoE connection? This is the type of connection where you must enter your username, password, and wait for your connection to establish. If so, that's likely your problem, as PPPoE and PSO do not tend to get along too well. The most commonly used solutions are (1) plugging the GC BBA directly into the modem, or should that fail, (2) purchasing a router and connecting through that.

ok... but why do off line games have a downloaded quest option, and, when i choose it, does it search my memory card for data? It would seem they at least itended to have downloadable quests, did they change their mind or something?

there are no downloadable quests right now. when they do have one you would either download it from the screen that says

Ship Select
Information

it might have an option there that would say downloadable quest but if not them it will be under information
