.. it's 87 degrees around NYC.
Some areas in the city are pushing 90s. Central Park hit a record high of 102.
Discuss.

As long as you have someone from Arizona around, you can't complain.
We get 100+ degrees everyday. Come live down here, you'll be WISHING for that heat.

Floridians can top that.
Come live here for a week, and you'll kill to go back to NYC.
Humidity is horrible.
I've heard Arizona heat is dry, so it's not as bad, but still hot as balls.
(still feel sorry for you guys, but being wet, sticky, and hot(lol) is worse than just being hot).
The temp has been about 104-110 (Heat index, means including the humidity feeling).
The actual temperature is around 90-98.

See, the thing is - we live away from places like Arizona or Florida on purpose. We don't want to have to deal with 100 degree heat if we can help it.
On a somewhat related note, there were like 3 fires in the downtown area of my city yesterday.

Typical July weather. Can't wait for Summer to be over, which will be around the second week in December, if we're lucky.

I love the heat. Get the cold away from me, I like being able to feel my body.

If I had the choice, when I was 7, I would have stayed in Boston.
God damn, that place is awesome.
I miss the snow, the cold, and the COLD!
That's why Alaska will be mine.
Nitro- You don't have to get so cold you cant feel your body!
The heat just kills me. Absolutely no energy, even though I run and exercise all the time.
Not a lot of energy in the sun. :(

Jeez, Downtown Manhattan, ya?
Where at, if you don't mind me asking?

My bad guys. I shouldn't have spent so much time last winter throwing away stryofoam cups and not recycling stuff in an effort to warm the globe.
(And seriously, it's like 89 every day up here in Wisconsin. What a terrible.)

I'm a complete sissy when it comes to cold. Anything lower than 65 is cold to me. That should be expected from the kid who went outside everyday in the 100+ degree heat, all day. I've come to love the heat. The sun gives me strength, and it pushes me to work harder as well.
Cold just pisses me off, I hate the feeling of cold.

I'd say the worst heat I ever encountered was in San Antonio during a heat wave. It was 105F (41C) out with a relative humidity of around 90%. That said, it didn't actually bother me all that much. I like my summers hot, winters cold, and autumn needs to be mild. Spring can jump off of a cliff for all I care as it is consistently miserable for me due to allergies. And while I do love the hot, autumn is my favorite season due to the festivals and foliage changing color.

Thursday was about 105 here in Joisey. I was fortunate enough to spend the better part of the day on the roof cleaning gutters. :disapprove:

See, the thing is - we live away from places like Arizona or Florida on purpose. We don't want to have to deal with 100 degree heat if we can help it.I agree. Give me not boiling summers and reasonably cold winters over either extreme.
Shouldn't we have had an afternoon thunderstorm this week? I plan on one every day after 3PM in the summer, but none at all this week.
I remember a few days in summer 2005. Spent a night in a 5th floor room with no air conditioning and no fan. Temperature was 90F+ during the day, humidity was 80%+. It was so bad, even at 8AM visibility was horrible- you could barely see a pink (so easier to see normally than the brick red or grey that is everywhere else around) 5 floor building that is only 150 feet away.

It's been raining every day here, it floods too.
And when it's not raining it's hot and humid.
Not to mention outside smells awful all the time and bugs rush into the house when you open the door.
Winter, please come back now.

It's been a little toasty a couple days up here in the frozen wastes, but not really all that bad.
Especially since I just spent about five weeks in Mississippi, where it's got blistering heat and rather intense humidity. It's bad enough when the listed temperature is over 100, but then the heat index makes me wonder if the place is hell in a literal sense, instead of just figurative.
I miss the snow.

last summer here in Texas we hit temperatures that out ranked the Sahara desert.
it was a nasty drought. thankfully this season we have lots of rain.
the worst I saw it on my dash board was 119 degrees that summer.
it was only on a few days out of the three months we had the drought.
the rest stayed between a low of 95 and a typical 109.
thank goodness that summer has passed.

I'm with the people who say that that's not nearly as cold as it would be. I'm in Arizona today, and have been for a few days, and it's hot. To make it worse, I'm at a hotel with a lot of fountatins, artificial lakes, etc., so it's also humid from the evaporating water.

I haven't moved from the general vicinity of "in front of my fan". I also haven't left the house since it started getting this hot.
I hate weather over 60 degrees.

I'm working at a summer camp, so outside is where I am for 75% of the day. It's miserable enough on the weekends, but when camp is in session, it remains pretty low on the list of things I notice as I go throughout the day. Not to say that 92 degrees farenheit with 40% humidity is fun...

Well I'm California.....and since it's July it practically doesn't rain.
