Attention, GUARDIANS!

We have several pieces of news for you.

First, there is a Regular Maintenance scheduled for this Thursday, July 15th. This Maintenance features the following:

-Holy Light Festival lobbies
-Sonic Birthday Event Rewards! (3-star luck and +10% grind boost)

Keep in mind, this will also end the current x10 Casino coin boost, so make sure you get your coins while you still can!

Secondly, we are happy to announce that there will be a special maintenance next Monday, July 19th for delivery of the Supplemental Update!

This Major Update, previously described in a series of previews on the main site, is also now being renamed for our territories to GUARDIANS Advanced Content. We will have additional details (including instructions for applying the update) added soon, but this is just advanced notice of the maintenance, which will begin earlier than normal on the 19th and likely last until early morning on the 20th.
bon appétit.

Finally. Though I anticipate an extremely slow drip of updates following that. Cynicism, you ruin everything for me now.

Well, at least we know it's coming now. I was actually getting worried for a while.

Something tells me theres going to be bugs and errors. Plus, Monday is an odd day for them to do maintenance. I wouldn't be surprised if they forget to update all together.

But we'll see. Goodluck you guys! :D

Well, my guess is that they are treating it as a game release since, if I recall, they have to replace AotI on the XBox Marketplace.

sweet as a nut, not sure i will bother playing between thursdays update and the monday one, been bitten by rollbacks before & you can call it what you like edward, But the name "supdate" has kinda stuck on me :P

@soloman grundy, If you ignore all the walna & badge boxs & stuff you should be able to hit a level every 2 & 1/2 hours, ( i know thats how long it`s taking me roughly at lv160+ )

This is indeed good news. Also, why must people find a way to complain? Something tells me that some of this people on this site would have loved to see the supplemental update take even longer, just so they could hate on it even more. It's pretty pathetic when you think about it.

Thank you!! *Tosses BladeM6x a can of Mug Rootbeer* I hate it too, lately I have been noticing how the folks are on par with Sonic Stadium back when I was on it.

Good deal. I won't be 160, but I might be able to make 150? (136 currently).

I suppose the "if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all" credo doesn't matter to some people. It makes me think that they post just to make people angry.

Just since we are on the subject: when exactly did we fall so far behind? I recall our first major slip behind the ~2 month gap between the regional and JPN servers (that was the result of different release dates) was around the release of AotI, but when did the gap start growing so much?

This all started with Maximum Attack G event, when it ended the delay was already around 4 months. Then there was a time with no updates, around 1 month and half, plus 3 weeks with an extension for the MAG event (which didn't happen in the JP servers), delay increased to 6+ months.
Near the end of that year, another month with no updates, delay increased to 7+ months.

Since those 2 big gaps until the closure of the PC/PS2 servers, the NA/EU servers kept getting updates at a slower pace than the JP servers, resulting in a constantly increasing delay, going from 6~8 months 1 year and half ago, to 8~10 months 1 year ago, to around 10~12 months by the end of last year.
Now with SEGA taking so long to get the supplemental update out, that delay is now 15~16 months.

I do believe the other cause in holdback was the constant delay of the Lightning Carnival. I do recall during my time playing that there was a constant wait on that event.

Well, that one didn't affect the delay too much since content that was released after the Carnival in the JP servers was released for us before the event (like the Parum GBR that introduced the SEED Express mission).
Unless the Carnival was the cause of the 2nd big gap with no updates ( November 2008 ).

IIRC, we never did get the GUARDIAN's Limit Attack (http://www.psupedia.info/GUARDIANS_Limit_Attack) event either. Regardless the summer of MAG was indeed the start of the major delays and lack of attention towards the 'Regional' servers.

On topic, regardless of how long the Supplemental took to be released on our servers, the fact that the balance fixes (PA and type adjustments) were not given to us sooner was their biggest mistake of all (and yes, this includes Gold Bars).

Yes the servers will go down on the night of the 19th at about 7pm PST (thats the time Edward said) and will come back up on the 20th. :)
Then you have to redownload AOTI -_-

I believe Edward said that we wouldn't, but that (I'm paraphrasing here) they "would get the content that was GC only to us in some form."

I dun complain! I find it funny that you're 16 months behind us (although I used to be on the same boat).

If only we were 16 months behind. At the current rate of decline we will continue to fall farther and farther back and even skipping events (Limit Attack) is not helping us to 'catch up' with Japan's servers in terms of content. Given that it takes a minimum of 3 weeks for the 360's servers to get new content as compared to Japan's bi-weekly (or better) rate in a year's time we will be another ~6 months back.
