Weeeeell i updated my PSU last night, though im on free course only (;-;) but i played like 2 days and then quit it because i couldn't find any people at al (and god i hate solo) and i couldn't understand a thing of all this japanese.

I would like to give it another try sometime and i also wonder if there might be any slight chance of a patch that converts all the japanese to english?

i think the site itself explains it very well, dunno if thats the right thing for you, but i tell you taht after a while the japanese gets more and more into you, and you even start do understand some stuff ;)

About a english patch for the JP PSU I don't know much. I learned to get used with the japanese language for the ingame functions and stuff. If you need any help with this, let me know; I know, in beginning it isn't so easy, but believe me, after a certain time, you'll get used to it. From my own experience I can say, I understand most of the game I have to understand, and for me it was rather a curious feeling, when i replayed PSUv1 and AOTI Story mode in english.

In my profile you also find my MSN and ICQ, generally I'm always somewhere around there.

Adding to Karen and trying help the Guardians Training:
Well, Iam used to change the place of LOG/BACKUP/SCREENS folders, because iam not fan of my documents/user folder hehe, then I preffer change place to avoid lost my screens/logs in future OS updates or formatting and so...
you can set the place of each one of these folders, in lines bellow:

LOG_PATH=
BACKUP_PATH=
SCREENSHOT_PATH=
These lines are found in "PsuIlluminus.ini", which is located in:

windows XP:
X:\Documents and settings\YOUR USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\SEGA\PHANTASY STAR UNIVERSE Illuminus

Windows 7 (and probabbly vista too):
C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\SEGA\PHANTASY STAR UNIVERSE Illuminus

If your OS is none of these, look in two locations, or use search for "PsuIlluminus.ini".
only make sure that your system is showing hidden files, in order to found the hidden folder that its placed..

JP PSU seems very intimidating from my standpoint.

How would we even go about communicating on the JP servers? I guess most of the problem is just trying to wrap my head around the language of the game. How to even navigate correctly through the menus or even search for items.

And according to the video, it seems Free course disallows us from entering our room. So we've lost the ability of our shops right?

Despite these challenges I would like to give it a go. The Judgment Coat has caught my eye.

It's not that hard as you may think. Everyone who played PSU for quite a time knows automatically where he can find stuff in the menues.
Besides this point, that's why me and TenebriS started this, to help anyone who needs help in any case of PSU Japan. I'm sure you would be able to understand the important things of this all quite fast.

To answer your question:
Yes, during Free Course you can't use your room and player shops. That's a function which is only for Premium players. Once you pay for playing you have all the functions you had on PSU EU/US PC or have on 360's and more!^^

How would payment work? I heard US credit cards wouldn't work, but I'm not too sure about that.

Unless you pay your monthly fee you can't use player shops, so you have live from what you find.

Can't tell you about US Credit cards, but with european ones it works very well. Never had any problems to pay.

nope, but every now and then we have some "player hosted events" where we try to get some importers and japanese together to exchange cards and do lil cards.

You can play with keyboard or controller, whatever you like more. The game itself you can download at the japanese site, at the guardiasn trainings group i think i posted a link to a PSOW thread which explains how you download and register. if you cant find it i will PM you the link :)

I get this error constantly, and (so far) it has 100% of the time been that I typed my
password wrong. They just recently deleted any old passwords and replaced them
with random Segalegablic passwords. I do not know if this applies to you (b/c i know
very very little about free course), but either way try checking w/e email address you
used to sign up for a random series of numbers and letters (mixed capped and not
capped) mixed in all the katakana, hiragana, and kanji and try using that as your PW
...and if that fails turn off capslock lol.

I don't know when you created your account. But Omi could be right since Sega just changed some passwords and sent the new ones as E-Mail on the registered adress.

Watch out for an E-Mail from "[email protected]" and in this mail you can find:

仮パスワード： a1b2c3

This was follows the japanese letters should be the new password. I don't if this applies to you but maybe that can be a good information for all importers.

Hmm...I think basicly I'd like to know what's going on at the Guardians HQ right now. I visited this brand new room that's similar to the conference room in Episode 3, then there was this other room with five NPCs behind a counter in what looks like a store.

I have completed two Japanese courses in school thus far...but I'm still rather slow when it comes to reading the language. So just some general info about the recent event would be appreciated.

The current event we have isnt really a event.
It has boosted EXP in Military Subway C-S3 and Bruce Dungeon C-S2 (i think its S2).
Also we currently have the event rewards from the Guardians Chronicle event. Next weeks update at thursday will bring us the 2nd wave of event rewards.

Attention Guardians!

Here we have a new source of help for all the new (and maybe some old) gamers on PSUJP.

I created four pictures, one for every planet and the colony, with the lobbies and the missions you can start from the Branch/HQ there.
In HQ / Branch, the 2nd counter option the girl let you select, is a list of the lobbies, where you can start all missions from. I translated the lobbies for you and wrote next to the lobbies which missions you can start.
After selected a lobby, there can be 1 or 2 options to choose. The ones with 2 options, I also made on the pictures.
If there's any questions, just ask.

Another maybe helpful file for the new importers, I just created.

It shows you the missions of PSU with it's japanese names, you can find the mission you wish to play even easier. As you can see, I also added the new upcoming missions for next thursday, Eco Protection and Misty Ruins. Since I don't have the JP letters for it, I just copied it from a picture. Same goes to the new Protectors Epsilon mission, we have since a bit.

I saved it once as an Excel file for those who use Excel, and one time as a picture file, for those who can't. I uploaded it as attachment and you can download it from here.

u checked the "story mode" box in the option menu, uncheck it. pretty sure it's story mode or something like that. Just uncheck it in the options menu

to be honest; if this thread is bumped or not really depends on if there are new people to JP and if they need help. Guardians Training is linked to my signature and to Tenes, so if anyone see us, he can also access to Guardians Training. So i don't think there is a need to bump this thread every day.

and to the phasion thread thing :P just seems like most people dont care much about how phasionable their chars are. As usual 99% of the community just cares about how strong a character is, if they have the ultimate strongest weapons, even if they are ugly like a piece of sh...t and not if the weapon fits to a character or looks pretty...
So yeah what can i say :P it's all up to the community of PSO-World :etongue:

Which is kind of a good thing, because I'll admit that most of the 360 community are either complete dunces, or elitists that are so far up their own asses that their stomach acid is burning their scalps (seriously, go there and post a comment on something and watch how rude the answers are). I can't stand that other forum. I'd rather come to this site, as 90% of PSOW's population is nice, and easy to get along with (even though people disagree sometimes, but that's natural). I'm much happier here.

EDIT: and PSOW's forums are easier on the eyes. I love the dark, sensual Mint Green skin.

Yes they are still populated. Peak times are early in the mornings for USA people, i'm not what the times are for EU people.

So I started off having the err62 thing people have been talking about for a little bit, and then I reset my password. But, when I tried to log in, I got error 61 instead. I tried last night and this morning, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't in the middle of maintenance or something, so I'm not sure what's wrong. I havn't played in a long time, and wanted to come back to play for a while. Anyone know anything about this?

Sorry for bumping this thread up a bit, I'm trying to play the game but I have an Error 062 when trying to connect on my account from April 2010, I checked my emails and it's correct, I tried my brother's account but I get an error 061-3 instead, does anyone know the cause of these problems?

'Otakons Den' was a moderate success so I'm going to set it up again today. Again, its in UNI 1 at the Colony 5th Floor counter where the event missions are also accessed.

I got called into work so I'll be AFK again :( ..but I'll catch up with everyone later to trade back cards.

As for its name, I really don't suggest 'Otakons Den', since one would need a second glance at the description of the party to know that there are actually English players in it. A more to-the-point name 'English Players' or something containing the word 'English' would be a much better choice.

As for the online status, I'm already running around with 'English player' above my head. ^^

There reason I chose a special name for the party instead of just stating 'English Card Trades' is that there is some looming etiquette about being overtly non-Japanese. I wanted to avoid any possible harassment by Yankee-haters.

The same goes for putting 'English-Player' in your status. We would have done that from the start but it seemed like bad manners; like speaking in english openly instead of just in a party chat.

I'm still going to use the same party name for next weekend, but if you want to start a group of your own during the week that would be great too!! The more the merrier.

If the mood has changed that would certainly make it a lot easier for us to connect with other english players but I'm not the one who would know.

Does anyone who can read Japanese on these forums have a sense of the current mood toward english-speakers on the Japan servers??

what if we had some type of symbol in the description and above head so English speaking people will know it's us. And at the same time not stepping on JP people toes. 1 reason I don't do to many group runs, Is that I want to stay out of the spot light and most Vets. play on different Univ. other then 1 even tho it's easy to be in a non-Eniglish group for runs. but a better way to get around this would be idea. To bad there's not a list of Eniglish players with there characters and play times that there on. That's if we pick a Set Univ. to play on? thoughts? :rappy:

You can use GC system even during fc but most of the equipment there have high requirement so depending on the items I'll say u need lv 80+ to use most of them.

I think premium is around $12 a month.

There are different amounts of GC you can purchase, ranging from 500GC to 10000(i think). The GC amount equas yen, so 500 GC is 500 yen.

You can always use google to figure out about how much yen in dollars are.

Look for any item on Amesani and copy it's JP name on to the other link. It will display the translation on how you have to type it; just make sure the keyboard is set to hiragana or katakana depending on the item.

use IME Pad its under there and if u want to type out Japanese just use it under language bar and use romaji then hit space till u get right spelling......its kinda simple......

Be sure to select the game screen when you change from English to Japanese; cuz even if your typing in your browser Japanese the language bar myth be set to type in English for the game.

Another thing is when u have to type something with a line above a vowel (like this rē) you have to type it like this re- giving you this レー (in this case katakana)

I'm downloading the client right now as well, I'll be playing the free course or whatever they offer without sub for now. Haven't really experianced the original PSU (I played a bit of the portables but beyond that idk much about the PSU universe).

I made a Cast named Grennir (atm lvl 7 but will be lvl'ing up today) look for him in Floor 5.

I used the Red Diamond thing to transport into the first Lobby on that list as well (Those options were a little confusing at first).
