HUmarl....the equivalent of the HUmar. It would be nice to see it though, and hopefully take over as sexiest character http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I see you have a HuNewm pic. Wasn't it considered for ep 1&2?

I would really like to see a HuMarl.

P.S. I think newmans can't use guns or something. I've heard they didn't use them in the old phantasy star games.

There are actually a few more characters that could be made HUmarl,HUnewm, RAnewm, RAnewearl, Maybe Sonic Team will include these in PSO3 ! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
Also i guess you could have FOcast etc but ... how would that work ? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif o HP and Purely TP ? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

I think a FOcast would we sweet. Apt like a HUmar or HUnewearl and low mst like RAmar. Still this character would be realy good. He would be android so he could use traps with magic and strong atp equals good character

yeah....?? why arent there force androids? look at the enemies in pso. even in version 1 vol opt and sinow gold could use resta. canadine types can all use gizonde. in version 2 sinow red could use resta, shifta, and deband. the new sinows can use gifoie, rafoie, gibarta and rabarta. can sinow zele also use jellen and zalure?

how about a focast and focaseal? the focast and the focaseal could use resta, sd/jz, elemental techs, but no megid or grants. perhaps they could have a technique for confuse, slow, and paralize. techs and tech levels could naturally unlocked as they level up, and they would have no need for traps. instead of having 0 mst they could have very low atp making melee combat worthless (max at 500 or less at level 200). what if they geared the focast towards hitpoints and the focaseal toward evasion and defense.

using precedents set in the game im sure that sonic team could come up with force androids as far removed from melee combat as the hunter androids are removed from techniques. the idea that androids cant use techniques is silly considering how many robot enemies can use them. in the pso universe even plants use techniques.

for our beloved bots they could add more traps since the paralyze, big bombs and also the new ep2 traps...no, i think i went too far. Does this belong in this post?

*Turns on PSO, loads up HUnewearl StarrLight, and proceeds to equip a Red Handgun, then an L&K14 Combat.* http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Seriously, though, Newmans use guns just fine in PSO. I have yet to see a plausible explaination as to why a Newman can't be a ranger. I hear people say something about Yuji Naka said so, so there's no arguing it, but that still doesn't explain why. That's like saying a human can't fly a plane because they weren't born with wings. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like a proper explaination as to why a Newman can't be a ranger. Anyone know?

Maybe people think that since most Newmans are Force types that their ATA is extremely low..? I really don't know either, a Ranewm or RAnewearlwould definitely be a nice addition to the game. The only problem is though, they kinda made the RAmarl to be what I would expect a Newman ranger to be. Maybe they could max out support techs and healing techs and trade off for the rest lying around a level 15(?)

That doesn't explain why a HUnewearl has a higher ATA max than a HUcast in E1&2. She used to even have a higher ATA than a HUmar back in ver.2. The whole varying maximum stat thing seems rather odd to me. What doesn't make sense is that a human takes a hunter role and he's suddenly got power and loses Shifta & Deband. Step back in time a second and say that human chose to be a ranger instead. Now all of a sudden he's got butt-loads of accuracy and can't use Jellen & Zalure. What the hell? Same race. Doesn't make sense. Training? Pshaw. What does training have to do with the difference between Shifta & Deband and Jellen & Zalure? A character doesn't even know the spell until you give him a disk to learn it. Sonic Team really needs to put more thought into their designs. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Newmen got hosed in E1&2. There's two new humans (for a total of five) and a new droid (for a total of four), but no new newmen (still a lackluster three). It would have made more sense to have made a RAnewearl (instead of a RAmarl) to balance both the races (four of each) and the genders (six of each). It's already a good bet that Sonic Team did not add a HUmarl and HUnewm because they needed something new for PSO2 (assuming it ever actually happens). Of course the fact that they were in a hurry also probably played a part in that. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

The thing they could do to balance things out more is reduce maximum spell levels for humans, keep higher spell levels for newmen, and give droids more choices for traps. Also, every time a droid levels and earns a trap let the player decide what trap maximum to increase instead of forcing one. I also think a skill system, in liu of spells for hunters and rangers, would be cooler and less redundant. PSO still suffers from what I like to call the Diablo 1 syndrome. By that I mean that most of the classes are too similar. By giving all the non-droids techniques there's not much individuality beyond appearance. Sonic Team added a little variance in this version by actually forbidding non-forces from using some spells, but it's still not enough imo. Even worse is that both hunter and ranger class-types have one specific power character that is rediculously better than the others when used in a team environment. These are, of course, the HUcast and RAcast. The balance is arguably that they HAVE to be played in a team environment to get that power. The problem is that the power can be too great for a team environment. Kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't outlook on it. That's why it would make sense to, say, reduce a droid's power a bit and in exchange give him traps that act like Jellen and Zalure and/or a skill that acts like Shifta and Deband.

Food for thought.

Or you know what might be cool? Creating new spells for Hunters to assist them in battle, but only for Hunters. Also maybe a thing for rangers as well, something that can exchange your EVP for ATA for an extended period of time or something. Or maybe having it so that your normal attack will always critical hit for a little while. As for the Hunters, I don't really use my techniques on my Hunewearl besides S/D and J/Z. I really never use the basic techniques mostly, others can be useful.. but not all too useful. I think maybe a spell to make the attack speed to go up for a certain amount of time might be nice. Also, instead of things like Shifta Merge and whatnot, they should really have those amps be equippable on the armor/frame like Knight Power and stuff like that. Of course that would make them more rare, but it would also make it so that you keep nice evade and defense while still have the bonus. Also better weapons for the Forces would be nice, they seem to get a bit ripped off compared to the other two classes when it comes to weapons. Sure, they have some boost weapons, but most of them aren't all too great, and the ones that are are mostly combination items I believe.
