All of my characters are original; the names are just names that I took a fancy for. Noland started as Ronald, then not wanting to sound like a burger slinging clown, I changed it to Roland, but then I decided to change the R to an N because I liked the sound of it better. Kayla and Nalleli were names of a couple of girls I knew in high school and I just liked the names: neither of them look anything like my characters. Kailah is just a variant of Kayla that I found interesting since I had never seen it before, and in an interesting twist I actually met someone named Kailah a year after I made the character.

My character SB "Stubborn Bitch" is based off of 2 TV series, Dark Angel and Alias.

Xavier is the name of my IRL godfather.
Katy is the name of my guitar.
Titan is the brand truck I drive. His name was Spongebob Squarepants on the US server. :p

Ehh.. a little different name then i usually use.
A dead giveaway i might say, a anti-heroine destined to show up when the odds seem impossible to survive. But she is not the friendly type, so you better listen up or she cut you down just like that. In the end of the day, she is after the thrill to boost her ego.

Dreamwalker - Newman / Male
This particular guy has always dreamed of experiencing other peoples dreams.
His main interest is the most terrifying ones, as he takes notes of them to increase his own magic power in the real world, it can be the smallest detail as long as it´s twisted.

i just gave my Human main my name off of Wow, as cool and original as that sounds xD. then i gave my secondary the name of my main from PSO, and based a name of anohter char from a weapon in PSO. Made a brand new char for PSU for my 4th. so 3/4 chars ARE based on something :)

I named my character Prototype because that's what I thought my character was in the demo (it eventually stuck). I added 07 at the end because my friends and I came up with the number 7 as our groups lucky number so it wasn't unusual to have that number in our names.

Ashwarya (Rai) is a famous indian actress/model: I think Indians arent often protrayed in gaming, so I thought it would be cool to run counter coulture for my techer type.

I've one character, actually. But it's just her name(which is a common name, anyhow) and haircolour.
It may be kind of crazy, but the way I envision Helga Hufflepuff, the founder of the Hufflepuff house in Hogwarts as a real brutish pugilist or berserker sort of character. XD It's kind of an alternate reality idea kind of, but since that's how I imagine that founder to be, I've made a couple of hunter class characters based on her in my Phantasy Star games.

Neika and NM-3084 are based on classic PS Numan archetypes. As third generation clones - both characters are intended to be amalgams of Nei, Rika, Neifirst, & NM-2011. Neika plays the Nei/Rika role - but is more intended to be a "Neifirst/NM-2011" character who has learned to make peace with humans and is seeking to break the cycle of hatred. NM-3084 plays the Neifirst/NM-2011 role, but is more intended to be extensions of the Nei/Rika characters whom have succumbed to the pain of persecution and torture that her sisters endured... especially her "abandonment" by Eusis and Chaz. Eusis because he couldn't keep his promise that no more monsters like her would ever be created, and Chaz because he died shortly after the events of PSIV and left Rika to raise their child Rui alone.

NM-3084 hates humans because of this unreliability which she attributes to weakness and haughtiness. She joined the Illumines for the opportunity to kill as many humans as possible, and finally carve out a new world for her kind. She is also aware of her nature as a living Nei Weapon (though Neika is largely ignorant of it), and resents that she was created to be used and discarded as nothing more than a weapon. So by turning that weapon upon innocents, she feels that she can break the chains of her fate. However, she ultimately betrays them because of Howzers favoritism towards Helga, which she sees as breaking his promise to make her his right hand in the coming genocide. She seeks the ruin of all now, illuminus - guardian, without distinction.

Just before the final showdown with Dark Falz on Rykros, she separates Neika from Ethan and kills her just as Ethan finds a way in to help her. NM goads Ethan into fighting her, begging him to fulfill his role in the chain of destiny and "become her Eusis"... but, though he defeats her in combat, he refuses to kill her. During the battle with Dark Falz, just as Karen and Ethan are about to fall in battle, NM-3084 returns bearing her and her sister's claws and uses them to unlock the Nei Weapon inside of her - sacrificing her life to save Gurhal and break the cycle of hatred.

As Mirei's spirit guides Ethan and Karen safely to the Landeel, NM's spirit watches on, finally able to find peace, as she is called home to Algol, to the Elysdion, by her sisters - Neika, Nei, Rika, etc.



Arisa and Lyle are named after Alisa Landale from PSI and Lyle La Mirah from PSIII - but that is the only connection. Otherwise they are completely unique characters.

Its true I do see a Nei around usually and some of the original PS characters remade, and cool to see that someone came up with "what happened after their games" kind of sernario

All my characters names I thought of on my own; none of them are references from anything else. However:

Nassandra was my first female character. Having never made a gal before on PSU, I was kind of lost on exactly "how" to make her look. So, well, I...

I always had a big crush on Sailor Mercury from the Sailor Moon anime (I used to watch it when I was in, like 3rd-5th grade). So, going by that, I gave Nassandra short, blue hair. That's the only thing I can think of as far as "things based off something else".

I have some more subtle references.

Iggy Rimit - Rimit was a spell in PSIV that either caused or healed sleep or paralysis. I forget. Iggy was also a name of a mouse character in a Sonic novel released in the UK in like 1993.

Berrymelon - one of my bots is called this, it's a random name in Disgaea for mook characters.

Souseiseki & Shinku - Rozen Maidens. Again, bot names.

Menvolt Ragashi - my GH490. Made from Magashi parts, so why not?

Hugh Mann - alias used by a Decapodian infiltrator in Futurama, the character himself is a lampoon of how bland human male hunter characters are.

Jenos Rimit - aside from being Iggy's "big brother" character, Jenos is both a corruption of Janus, the two-faced Roman god, and lifted from Jenos Idanian, a name used in Star Wars books, itself an anagram of Indiana Jones.

Rune Vulpius & Rune Elsydeon - Rune was obviously the coolest mage guy in Phantasy Star history so far, Elsydeon being the Sacred Sword in PSIV too.

I once had Asagi, the "lost hero" of Nippon Ichi's SRPG series (most notably Disgaea), as a human female gunner, and I had Rozalin on PSO as a FOmarl with inferno bazooka, L&K38 Combat, Last Swan and a Pushan I referred to as "Tink". Also on PSO I had Hyatt from Excel Saga as a RAmarl.

Well these where the character i had on the US/EU server. i had a few names based off other characters/people, but my characters didnt look anything like those character/people.

Male CAST Valgar, the name came from Valgar Reinhart of Guardian Heroes, (my favorite Sega Saturn game)

Male Beast Namura, Tetsuya Nomura the famous video game director, character design, illustration that works for square enix. (only changed an o to an a)

Female Newman Rika, i actually didn't base her name off Rika from Phantasy Star IV but from Rika Nonaka of Digimon Tamers (wich was random i just liked her name thats all)

(Miray wasn't bassed off anyone, it came from the Japanese word Mirai wich means future, only changed one i with an Y)

1. Khopesh- named after the sword. My loli-bot is Stiletto after the small knife.
2. Wakazashi- also a sword (a small sword). Loli-bot is Tanto after another small knife.
3. Ravenbryt- found out that's what my last name means. Although it was spelled with "igh". I dropped the "igh" and threw in the "y" as you can see.
4. Raziel- played Soul Reaver. Fell in love with the character and his awesome name.
