Well, I have FiG at 20 on two of my characters but don't remember much about playing it. I'll go look at my diary.
First entry: Spin spin spin spin spin spin spin spin...
...seems all I did was spin. Okay! As a Fighgunner, your main form of attack is to spin at full speed into dudes, so anything that makes that EVEN MORE absurdly powerful is going to be your friend. So I'll list these from scratch...
Double Sabers: There's not a single FiG in the world who doesn't have Tornado Dance to at least level 80 already, even using it purely for transport and "accidentally" running into enemies will level it up insanely quickly. If you like this, 15AP will give you the five PA Level + upgrades to get to lv50, same as a Fighmaster, not as fast, but stronger and for less PP. Of course if you're smart, you'll use Spiral Dance. Just as much spin, much more damage, much less likely to get you booted.
FiG has twin daggers. WT has these too, but in the words of cereal ads, "Silly Guardian, Wartecher is for noobs!". They're the only guys to get lv50 twin daggers. Renkai Buyou-Zan is one of the most spintastic moves out there, it relies on being surrounded, which, as a FiG who rushes ahead of everyone else in the party, you're likely to be. Nice haymaker, nice damage, generally a solid move to have. Again, 15 AP, 5 upgrades.
Twin Sabers are shared with FF, who have more ATP. Rising Crush, Assault Crush and Cross Hurricane are all powerful and useful when used right, but they don't spin enough. Bored now. If you must, though... 15AP, 5 upgrades, +10 Pa levels. This is one of the better options, rising crush is great for juggling dangerous enemies like Vanda Orga and, uh, more Vanda Orga, and more accuracy and power is only going to help.
Single dagger has Buten Shuren-Zan, and its upgraded version, Hikai Shuha-Zan, both very good on high-ATP characters, or Shunbu, a slower, therefore crappier, version of rising strike with nonetheless a high enough ATP modifier to make it worth using even on newman AT. A solid choice if you use left-handed things too. Which is what smart FiGs do, if their left-handed thing is something Acrofighter can't have.
Sabers are okay. but who hasn't seen those before? Even Protranser, the Anti-Fighgunner (heavy weapons only, all 2-handed, final destination, GO!) has them. If you have a good set of sabers, go for it... rising strike is insanely good in almost any situation, and spinning strike will make enormous numbers appear against single target baddies, most useful against HUGE single target baddies like Bil de Vears.
Now, on to the 99% ignored part of Fighspinner, guns.
Twin Handguns are extremely powerful in the right hands. Fighgunners are most definitely the WRONG hands, but they can still packa hell of a punch. One PA lv + and one Element + and your lv32 bullets are now pretty strong. Nice for first-personing, with a big ol' ATP to back it up. Requires work in the form of bullet levelling, not recommended for Spin & Win types.
Mechguns arewere Gunetcher Onry! Until Fighgunner stole 'em, same time it did for twinuns. They're an ideal match for FiGs, you can open fire without even stopping! YOU CAN KILL THINGS WITHOUT EVEN STANDING STILL! AT ALL! This appeals to Fighgunners. I can tell. If you have a right-handed weapon, make a mechgun your left-hander. PA Lv+ once, Mechgun Element +, and you have a decent elemental bonus in your hand.
RCSMs: Yo dawg I herd u liek killin so we put a gun in ur brain so u can shoot while u slash! They are nice in that you only have to purchase one upgrade, RCSM element +, to max them out for any class. FiG only get A-ranks, but the Shag Hodogg is only 7* and already the best for raw damage.
Beast/CAST get 10 upgrades, Newman (Fighgunner? GB2/techerschool/) get 15, Human (Aren't you extinct already?) get 20. As diverse a class as FiG benefits from human's higher cap the most.
For stat boosts, everyone will be able to get the full five bonuses to ATP, and it's usually advised to back that up with ATA. Unless you're a CAST, in which case stamina is nice to back up your mandatorily occupied extra slot. Personal preference as to whether it's worth it. Rabol Orachio is your friend, since it can only be used by hybrids you don't have a lot of competition to get you hands on one.

Nice info brah, ...also its kind of funny that i was listening to YouTube - Dead or Alive - You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) when i decided to read your post.
so exactly how many types of fig styles are there? I think im already in the spin & win (as you so cleverly named it) style.

I would suggest DFP+ unless you are a female cast. This will enable you to wear serafi senba on the /R missions, which is full of win, since S rank ATP units, +S rank weapons = fast fast runs.
Also for the R/missions, you are likely looking at twin sabers, and single handed weapons for a while - double sabers have a high ATP requirement so double agito, crea doubles, and rucar are out of reach unless even with ATP+ level 2
