Since MFs got the (*shudder*) limit break on Diga, there seems to be less and less reason to play fT

but if YOU play fT, and I know someone out there does, I'd love to hear more about what makes this Class great now...

Is it the versatility?
Do you use ranged weapons?
Melee?

If so, how do you overcome the really poor ATA and ATP? Does the Red Knight make enough of a difference?

How about the slower casting speed? Does Har/smart or quick + Dam Techs make it worth it?

There is absolutely no reason to play fT. Period lol.

FT really got the shaft, and probably one of the worst types if not the worst.

But I see enough JP players still running around as FT. Have all those PAs looks good on paper, not really practical though.

FT is good for GAM though.

Limit Break alone killed FT. FT is due for a re-balance.

They did things to boost its utility with support lv40, added the stat boosts, boosted rods (which were, essentially, FT only before MF), and with GAS you have up to lv50 spells, or 40 bullets, or 20 attack skills.

So all this means is that, GAS for GAS, they're still the Jack of pure techers. MF has the raw power advantage with limits, and AT has the lv40 (i.e. 50% element) spells as well as some physical and gunny backup.

But, Jacks being Jacks, I can't just say it's not worth playing ever... as a Wartecher, we shitty classes have gotta stick together, right?

I disagree. FT raw damage (pre GAS) for techs is 50% higher than what an acrotecher puts out. This assumes 10/10 rod vs. wand, level 40 vs level 30 tech, and vs an opposite element enemy.

+8% element (rod vs wand)
25% weapon (1168 Psychowand - attainable vs 926 10/10 granahodora - good luck w that)
+ 20% TP (170% vs 150%)
+10% damage mod
+10% element

True they give up some amount of attack speed, but dam and nos techs offset this, and they get increased range and SE as a benefit.

They had a LOT more options vs MF which was a decent trade off. (Not to mention pre-GAS, MFs had really poor EVP too).

Post-GAS fTs really got the shaft: They just don't have the umph to drive physical damage, even with whips at 20, and the Diga limit break for MFs means they are left in the dust for boss killing tech damage as well.

(Wartecher is the opposite, IMO. They are only meant to use techs as a damage source of last restort. Bows means they have a good long range solution (better than ATs best option, IMO). Good fit for Human, or Beast if you wan to maximize melee and tradeoff TP/EVP)
