Okay, so I found a bunch of mint condition copies of PSO v2 for the Dreamcast on Amazon for $10, and I was wondering if it's possible to still be able to play it offline, even though I don't have a Hunter's License. Any help on this?

Also, is it legal to, say...after I get PSO v2, to get the version with the enhancement pack, or is it still illegal to download a game if you have the original copy? I just want to make sure I'm doing things legit here.^^; Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.

The HL was only for online gaming and has nothing to do with offline. Yes you can still play offline.

The second question of your post isn't ringing any bells with me to be honest. Never heard of an "Enhancement pack".

Thanks. I think I might just get it then.

Well...it's an unofficial, fan-made thing. It's more or less a mod of sorts. It does things such as balances the drop rates (it also makes it easier to get rares, especially the ones that have very low probability), and, uh...oh yeah, it also makes Ultimate mode even harder. Even a Lv 200 apparently will have trouble in it. I think it also adds some new drops...but I'm not sure.

For that you need to download the ISO image or download the patch for PSO PC.

I don't see a problem downloading it, or any ISO image regarding pso ver.2 considering you have the original game.
For offline gaming, both the US and EU are ok, for online gaming the EU version is mandatory (regarding a original game disk)

I would give you the link to the mod, but unfortunatly i'm not alowed to post cheats

You can still play the US version offline just not online.

The reason the EP is able to get online because its PAL V2, which is the only DCv2 that can still go online due to no HL check. I can't give you a link but if you use google to find the big private server and look closer, you'll find what you need.

Alright, thanks guys! I'm definitely gonna order it tonight, then.

I used to play PSOBB quite a bit, but I never got too far. I did have a Lv 10X Rati and quite a few cheapy rares, such as Guilty Light, but...yeah. I think getting back into PSO will be great after over 100 hours in PSU/PSP2, and 60+ hours in PSZ. Thanks again guys, and yeah...it was quite a stupid question other than the ISO downloading. It makes sense, though, since you could make your own backup of any DC game. It's basically the same thing, only somebody else made it, right?

Yes, it the same game, someone just altered a few files, but you can use any disk really.

That doesn't sound much different from a Gameshark/Xploder/Codebreaker. As long as you're only playing offline, I don't see a problem with it.

Eh, probably isn't much different. I'm not planning on going online with it, so I think I'm in the clear. :-P (I don't have a BBA...so online play is pretty much off limits to me, anyway.)
