You said comparative to the super layering artist, it takes a whole bunch more materials, and thus strokes, but how do you think you fared with his style? Was still fun to try right - Worth all the effort and paint and such?

Its an over absurd amount of paint. Especially with the rose one that its STILL wet after a week of sitting in a dry airy enviorment. Yeah its oil paint but still...!

I meant to reply to this. Hitting it with a blowdryer is dangerous to everyone around you. Considering Cadmium is part of the ingredients to the paints thats pretty toxic. The paintings stay sealed in an airtight room when nobodys in there, with air slowly going through the ducts. it makes drying quicker i guess?

Speed sketching would work for that. Just a 5 minute sketch would make it way easier, cause you don't have to worry about proportions and placement anymore. That way you can focus on just the painting itself.

I haven't quite learned the art of speed sketch on a tablet yet.
On canvas, i've grown comfortable doing 5 min jestures of what i wanted to draw.

I am not a pro artist, but doodling something like this under 5 minutes helps me a ton to draw the rest of the picture. I do this with a 40px brush @ a 6000x8000px canvas with the brush opacity on 30%.

Try setting your brush size linked to the pen pressure of your tablet pen. That way it will be easier to control the line thickness. Combine that with either 30% opacity or pen pressure linked to your opacity. That way your tablet will feel more like a pencil.

pen pressures on. I choose to do it this way mainly because it acts airbrush like, and its loose enough for me to go back and go thinner and stronger with a 2nd layer of lines (again leading to result picture). Sloppy blurry line makes it so I don't feel stuck and limited to going that direction, but i'll keep your idea in mind.

Queen could fit in that category for sure. Like the drastic contrast there. Face too cheery compared to the foreground really detailed skeletal body. Purple always good with black too, nice details.

Truth be told, I sometimes have paranoid feelings when people look down at what i do, (Often, i hunch to draw.) and often my bored sketching involves wtf type things or just game shit. Or worse, them. So back int he day i did alot of eye filled artwork, or had whoever i was drawing appear to be staring angryly at them, like "what are you lookin at?"

Out of curiosity I watched the first episode of that anime (I didn't watch it earlier because I was afraid of it being the basic, corny magical-girl anime). I think the right one works better. Visual hierarchy is a lot better contained in my opinion. Also the face is simple which is kind of neat letting the viewer not just settle for the character, but to look at the backdrop more often. Though the right one has a nice expression and I'm digging the four digits. :d

I agree with you that the right one worked out better. I always get in a jam when i want to use my gf as a model considering how I stress harder on making it look more like how she actually is. Vs, what it should be... At least with the sister (right) i don't mind if it doesn't look like her.

Anyway; me and my gf (left) did this together. My original thing, i colored it once, she went over it again, recolored it, pastel'ed it then solidfied it.

Oh, I didn't notice it was a cloak at first, since plant man got cropped off... lots. What I see is a flower creature with an eye patting the heads of two betrothed eggplants. I suppose something like a wedding ceremony? I like this idea better.. you should make eggplant creatures. I'm sure you can pull it off.
