I could be wrong but from my knowledge PSO detects the lack of the modem or broadband adapter (for GC) and will not proceed further. Sorry :-?

So what do i have to do to connect online through the GC? or does it have to be on the PC to go online?

Either the modem adaptor (if you have a dial-up interner connection) or the
broadband adaptor (if you have a broadband/cable/ADSL connection.)
A Hunter's Licence.
but the main servers for dream cast and GC where terminated on March 31st, 2007

Several private servers have GC support but they have fairly low populations. I would recommend Blue Burst as it is basically the GC version with added items and a whole new episode. Blue Burst also still has a very active community on most private servers.
I was getting ready to ask this myself, how does it not detect it though? The Wii has an ethernet jack. :|
I want to know exactly if you can or cannot, if you can't, is BB free? Including both the game and private servers?

The game itself needs to detect the Gamecube broadband adapter which the Wii doesn't have. Blue Burst is free and you can download the respective client for whatever server you decide to play at.
