Broadband rules. Resistance is futile. You know you want it.

I find that offensive!

I use Cable.

I used to rely on a horrible 28.8 dial up connection (I live in the middle of no where).

Now, everytime I hear the words "dial up"..i feel so dirty

Whatever, just stating an opinion.

Cable is good food! Doesn't matter all that much for PSO though, really... No-lag pickups in BBA games is miiiighty fine, though. And lack of disconnections. And fewer FSODs. And fast join times.

Until this weekend I was on 56k. I broke down and bought a router, the cable, and a broadband modem for my GC. Lately PSO has really been lagging, and considering we already had broadband I was kind of tired of having my friend wait on me. I felt bad. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

If you get the stuff for broadband, good luck. It's a lot faster. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

My cable modem sucks so bad. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif But it checks its self when lag is around.

I do have a wireless network so I have a DSL connection in my room.

However, I cannot find a BBA, so I am still stuck with 56K unfortunately.

No FSOD? That sounds like heaven. I've FSOD'd so many times. One night alone within a 20 minute span I FSOD'd 5 times http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I had Dial-up, its one of the reasons I sold my GC and PSO. SOOOOOOOOO laggy, shouldnt have been either. Ver1 and 2 were not...

PSO was designed so 56K people and BB users could hardly tell the difference in connections. So Im guessing you either had a smitty ISP or you had your info filled out a little funky.

Well, so far, It seems like I should switch to BB. I have the bba, and we're getting DSL tomorrow. We've already bought the router stuff, but for now, i can only hook it up to my computer, as it is USB.

I used broadband but with pso there really isnt a difference except laoding when joining a game and quests, u dont make the game lag more!

There's not only a noticable difference with going into quests and joining games, but the game in general. I use to lag really bad during the game at times. Last night was the first night I noticed a little lag on Cable, but it was NOTHING like the lag on dialup. There is a noticable difference.
