I'm running vista home premium. So until the other day, my computer's theme was windows vista aero. I changed my battery settings to the long lasting one because I couldn't charge my computer for a little while, and the theme changed to vista basic, which makes me want to gag. I changed back the battery settings in hope that it would put aero back, but it didn't. Some sites are telling me to go to Personalization > windows color and appearance, and to change it to aero from there. The only problem is, Aero doesn't appear as an option there. What happened?
Edit: Okay, I spent a while searching around, trying to figure this all out. I finally got my computer to tell me that something was wrong, and it led me to my computer's event log. Every few days since I got my new hard drive (mid-october), the log says I've gotten a warning. Under the Opcode it says "Video Memory Degradation." So my new goal is to figure out what that's doing and why is it happening. Any help is appreciated.
